Postal Inspectors Nab DVD Thief at Mail Facility

A clerk recently pleaded guilty in federal court after he was arrested for stealing DVD movies at the Houston P&DC.
Inspectors observed the clerk, a 32-year employee, placing DVD movies into a plastic grocery bag. They took him into custody and recovered the grocery bag — containing 122 DVD movies still inside their mailing envelopes — from the clerk’s vehicle. The clerk admitted stealing DVD movies from the mail for about a year. A search of his residence yielded a total of 8,177 DVD movies worth more than $117,000.

32 years gone to waste for a bunch of DVDs. Must have been on some drugs or alcohol. That or the clerk is a moron.

How about a supervisor that takes dvds out of the mailstream, decodes and copies them on USPS computers, returns them to the mailstream and sells the copies???????

Are you kidding? That is still theft and crazy. You have a responsibility to report that to the OIG or at least to a higher level Manager.

yeah that’s if the OIG ever bothers to investigate….they pick and choose what they want to follow up on…..why’s it always fall on the laborers shoulders to do managements job for em?……dang managers think they are above the law/especially the 204b’s….whoever came up with that program was misguided……should call it the sell out your coworkers to get ahead program…………

Really? Because I had false charges made against me and refuted them in front if the Inspector the OIG referred the case to. But does OIG make forgery charges against the other guy? Nope. Only goes after USPS employees. Told me to file with the local authorites.

They (employees who steel) are freaking idiots and very stupid - and they still don’t learn the lesson.
It doesn’t cease to amaze me how every other month another one gets caught.
In their own little stupid mind they think they are smarter than the last one that got caught and think they can outsmart the OIG’s and will not get caught.
Fellows, ever tempted? Don’t even try, you will be caught.

As info, Pistol, the OIG’s jurisdiction is internal crime. If this guy wasn’t an employee he’s not within their jurisdiction. Sorry. The Inspectors, on the other hand, work external crimes.
