USPS Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire Website Launched
From PostalReporter.com reader:
The website link http://gx.gallup.com/pos [link corrected] started appearing at the bottom of customer sales receipt on Saturday. USPS requests customers to “Tell us about your recent postal experience.” All you need is a zip plus 4 of the post office visited (located at the top of the sales receipt) to start the questionnaire.
According to the website operated by the Gallup Organization: “Your questionnaire responses are important to help us improve postal service in your area. This questionnaire should be completed by the person who recently made a purchase at a local post office. Your responses will be kept strictly confidential.” One of the questions asked is “How would you rate your visit to the __________Post Office?”
Below is a copy of a customer sales receipt

your link to the survey is wrong, but the survey us up and running at the correct link. Maybe this will get rid of the mystery shopper program.

A recent visit to the NEW post office in Meriden, Ct revealed the money spent for the new facility was wasted. It has not cut the wait time for service at all. Still only 2 workers at the window which was reduced to one while I waited in a short line for a long time.
The postal worker was couteous and helpful but I had hoped not to spend my morning in line at the NEW facility. I will have to avoid this facility and gain time by going to another town’s post office.

I sent a box parcel post 24 pounds to my daughter 200 miles away- it’s now day number four (sent out on the 7th, this is the 11th)and she still hasn’t gotten it -ditto the same for a package sent the same time to son in Lawrence Kansas- same distance- your rates are higher- your service isn’t- I could have strapped them to a skateboard and gotted both packages there in four days. Believe me, if there were any other way of sending out packages in this one horse town we ALL would- your service stinks
June 12th, 2007 at 4:39 am
I entered the Zip + 4 and got an invalid message. Is your site really up and running?

The zip code on my reciept is not right. How can I change it?

I love getting mail, and the service I received at the Rutherford branch is always polite and courteous. I mailed a birthday present to my nephew and I’m keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping it gets there quickly and in one piece.

Very happy with the whole trip to the post office in Rice Lake, parked for free right on street in front of building, the clerk was very helpful, I was getting the extra postage I needed for $.31 stamps I was using and bought two books of new stamps, whole visit took less than five (5) minutes.
June 15th, 2007 at 6:32 am
I can’t believe the rates you charge. I will
use the UPS service from now on. You raised the
rates and decreased the service. Soon the US
postal service will no longer be needed.
ps Was unable to enter the zip plus 4 as
requested. 453853216

Went to mail wedding invitations and found out there is not a .58 stamp. Had to put 2 stamps - a ram’s head and flag on the wedding invitations. The new LOVE stamp does not come out until end of June. With all the weddings across the US during the summer months you would have at least thought the USPO would have a nice looking .58 stamp, but no - only a ram’s head and flag. Give me a break! Some moran in USPO wasn’t thinking ahead! The LOVE Stamp won’t be able good unless your wedding is in Sept or later.

I have stopped using the four digit number that comes after the zip code because I printed the number that was given to me and my mail was returned. I had the correct address, and four digit zip code, but they could not be bothered to deliver my letter, but returned it to me. Hence it is safer not to use the four digits if one does not want the mail to be returned.

How can we get to the gx.gallup.com/pos site?
We have the best service of any post office in the area. Getting rid of that ditzy postmaster was a blessing. Now bring in a good worker and customer friendly postmaster and things can continue to be top notch. As long as Fort Walton Beach continues to provide such poor service I will continue to go to Mary Esther.

Dominion Station
Bristol, VA

I visit this post office 5 times a week. There is only one teller. Only one. She handles all the duties. I stand in line FOREVER waiting for her to finish with the people in front of me just to sign for a registered letter or to buy postage.
This is highly unfair to your employee who has to bear the brunt of rude customers who are fed up waiting in line. It is unfair to your customers who wait in line. My time is valuable as my boss is not paying me to stand in line but to be in the office working.
You need to hire someone else for the front desk. You are being most unfair to your employees and your customers. Other post offices I have been to have more than one clerk and they ususally aren’t as busy as this station is.
Please put someone else up front, full time, now.
Thank you.

MY COMPANY RECENTLY SENT OUT A MAILING WHICH INCLUDED A PEN WITH A TOTAL WEIGHT OF 0.9 OUNCE.
THE MAILINGS WERE EITHER RETURNED OR SENT TO OUR
CUSTOMERS WITH POSTAGE DUE. UPON RETURNING TO THE POST OFFICE, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS A WIDTH RESTRICTION WHICH WENT INTO EFFECT AT THE TIME OF THE POSTAGE INCREASE. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE POST OFFICE HAD SOMETHING TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF ALL THE CHANGES. THE POST OFFICE HAD A TEMPLATE BUT HAD NOTHING THAT I COULD TAKE BACK TO MY OFFICE. THE POSTAL EMPLOYEE SAID THAT PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THE POSTAL INCREASES BUT HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE OTHER RESTRICTIONS WHICH WERE ALSO PUT INTO EFFECT. SO. OUR MAILING WHICH SHOULD HAVE HELPED OUR BUSINESS ONLY MADE THINGS WORST !!!!

Visits to local post office are becoming comparable to the local license bureau. Lines are long because of the shortage of clerks. While I was there for 20 minutes there were never more than two clerks open for business. When one came from a break, another left. I saw 4 clerks, but by the time I was serviced the two who were there when I arrived were “on break.” The previous time it was the same deal, but then I was sending a package to Texas that the clerk assured me would arrive in 5 or 6 days. It actually was delivered 28 days later. That seems to me to be the sign of a business that is killing its customer base.

I MAILED A FLAT RATE PRIORITY MAIL ENVELOPE TO SIMINOLE, OK. ON JUNE 19TH. AND IT HAS NOT ARRIVE AS OF TODAY JUNE 28TH. IT USUALLY GETS THERE IN 3 OR 4 DAYS AT THE MOST. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN I DO TO FIND IT? IT IS VERY IMPORTANT MAIL THAT MY SON NEEDS. HIS JOB IS THERE AT THIS TIME AND I WILL NEED TO SEND HIS MAIL AGAIN.

I live in southbury connecticut and am a transsexual woman in transition [ MTF] straing her own e-bay business. and so, I use the services of our local USPS, the southbury P.O. 06488 zip code quite a big lately. I have to be the one person whom has to be the best example of diversity here in the fairly conservative and set in its ways town of SOUTHBURY , CT. USA ;the one whom turns all the heads in disbelief with many of its local residents when she walks in with her denim skirt and camisole top on! BUT, I FEEL THAT EVERY TIME I GO TO OUR LOCAL SOUTHBURY POST OFFICE ; I AM TREATED WITH THE VERY SAME RESPECT DUE OF ALL ITS FEMALE CUSTOMERS! the guys and girls working there all have come to know me and for that reason alone; I take all of my shipping business to them! I wish that I could say the same for our local UPS shipping outlet, business and shipping center of southbury; where the owner hints by his non verbal actions that I am perhaps “the worst queer plague to ever invade the peaceful hamlet of southbury, CT; but truthfully, I CAN NOT. HEY USPS 06488! YOU WIN! THUMBS UP 100%!

The website indicated on my receipt did not come up, but after a bit of searching this page came up. On May 22nd I mailed 100 notes to persons who may be interested in a San Diego State University support effort called “Friends of the Classics.” On July 7th, seven weeks later, one was returned as “not deliverable” from an address not more than ten miles away. The address was confirmed as correctly entered according to the latest information available from the SDSU Retirement Organization, but apparently the addressee — a former President of that institution — has moved without leaving a forwarding address, but where on earth was the letter for seven weeks? Earlier a copy of the same letter was returned in a torn and taped condition over four weeks after it had been sent to a famous writer in Florida at a verified address (a new copy has reached her and been acknowledged) correct in every respect except for a typo in the zip, entered as 32217-5202 instead of 32216-5202. Surely someone at the local distribution center could have taken the few moments necessary to compare the address with local records. Is it any wonder why e-mail is becoming so popular?

On June 28, I was in the Pittsford Post Office, there were two people waiting on customers and in the background was the boss with a clip board taking notes. Since there was a line of people waiting he did not step up to help the customers. It gave me a very bad impression that he didn’t care about the service and was only interested in his paperwork.

I was in the Hudson Oh, post office today mailing a package to my daughter in Lexington, Ky. Mark waited on me and he was so helpful. He not only got a priority box and put the items inside I was mailing, he also sealed the box and gave me several extra boxes to take home for future mailings. I have been a retail manager for 14 years and I really appreciate it when I receive such wonderful customer service. Mark made my day, too bad there are not more people like him. Keep up the great work. This is one of the reasons I love living in Hudson Oh. Sincerely, Karla Wray

My visit today at the Marlborough, CT Post Office is as it usually is…pleasant, enjoyable and serviced by friendly people. Thank you, Marlborough USPS!

The Post Office is ripping its customers off!! Its rates are constanly going up and the quality of customer service is steadly dropping. On July 5, 2007 I mailed a flat rate priority envelope (which I paid $4.60 and advertised as 2-3 days for delivery) to my daughter in Smyrna, GA from the Westchester, CA 90045 station (bill #1000702637579; clerk #17). My daughter is a single Mom and the envelope contained a cashier’s check to help her with the children for the summer. Today is July 12, 2007 and the Priority Mail (what a joke) has still not arrived in Georgia. I contacted the Smyrna, GA and Westchester stations for assistance. The person at Westchester Station told me that “each station is mandated to mail out all mail received that day; usually the mail will show up however there could be a delay; also he couldn’t help me if I didn’t have a tracking number!!!!!” I asked what kind of delay and he said “like it could be caught in a machine!!!” I told him what CONSOLIATION!!! In the meantime I have contacted the bank that the check was issued from and was informed that their system shows the check outstanding. So I am inconvenience re: stop payment process which takes up to 90days. I should have followed my first mind a mailed the item through FedEX or UPS for about the same amount of money. I see why the Post Office which was once a very dependable and reliable service is going broke and customers are using more on-line services or alternative mailing systems. Because I certain will!!!
July 12th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
I had my mail on hold and when I picked it up at the designated counter,I waited in line 25min.. Only 1 person was there and it took him forever to find a registered letter, mail on hold etc..What is wrong with their system?? FIND A BETTER WAY!

I visit the Post Office 320559998 about three or four times a week to mail media mail. I have been doing this for over three years and have gotten to know all the front people.
I have never had to wait over 15 minutes even if there is a long line. The Post Office is a very
valuable partner in my business of online selling.

Paterson’s office is the worst, the line is always out the door and their are only 2 or 3 tellers their at all times. Their are over 8 windows in that office, their’s never any parking and we have to pay a meater that only allow’s 15 min. then a cop walk’s around and give’s out ticket’s. That’s not fair when the line is always long no matter what time of day it is. I need to go to the post office atleast 4 times a month. “Hire some more teller’s”

Mailed first class envelope to zip 29576 on July 2,07 it finally arrived on July 16, 07 TWO WEEKS for a first class envelope!! (75 cent postage) remailed on July 13, 07 (another 75 cent postage!
Such GOOD service for the price.
Plus standing in line both times equals about 45 min. of time not to mention gas for both trips.
Fed-Ex cheaper and more reliable.

I requested printed information for restrictions/changes in mailing to South Africa and was informed that none were available. The rates have been raised and the service is poorer. What happened to surface mail going overseas. My daughter and four grandchilden are missionaries in South Africa and I have mail M-bag surface mail for many years. These bags may have taken 6 months to arrive but it let the children know thier grandmother was thinking about them. The NEW? IMPROVED? post office has ROBBED me of the joy of giving to my children ! I believed myself as a cheerful giver.
Where can printed information be available on new regulations to mail overseas?

I recently went to the post office in Framingham,MA Bill#100070050886, clerk 20. I wanted to know how much a large envelope would cost to mail. The clerk put my envelope on the scale and told me .80. I needed to mail a number of these envelopes. When I asked for 100 stamps he told me that he had only 70. These I purchased. When I got back to the office I had 60. A number of envelopes were sent out with the .80 stamps. These all came back for additional postage due. The rate should have been .97.I am very unhappy with all of these issues. One being short and over charged . Then the rate was wrong.

I recently went to the post office in Orlando, FL Bill#1000803337103, clerk 19 to send off a letter size document Priority Mail on the 10th of July 2007. TODAY, is 19 July 2007. I knew I should’ve sent it with a confirmation #, unfortunately, I didn’t. Now, my documentation is lost through the mail system. The only response I’ve received to try to get some assistance with this-was call back in another week and “they’ll try to assist” me then. I don’t know about other “working folks”, but when you rely on the mailing system and pay an extra Three dollars and change for your documentation(s) to get where it needs to be in a timely manner, it really upsets me to go through a lot of unnecessary aggravation in order to keep a good standing name with other businesses. Just want to say “THANK YOU for NOTHING” to the Orlando Main Post Office, FL 32862! You really know how to help a Service Member out.

I have tried your STRATFORD CONNECTICUT post office a total of three times on days where my work has been close to that location. On all three times the line has been out the door (twice at 2:30 in the afternoon and once at 4pm) with the number of people in line averaging 30. While the mail from that location seems to get to its destination faster than from my hometown post office spending a half hour to forty five minutes in line is not worth saving an extra five to ten minutes in driving time to go to the nearest UPS mailing center. Will start going there instead-that should relieve your surly employees from being overwhelmed by the volume of mail and packages that they process.

respect when surving other people in the usvi.st.thomas.They all so need to have better hygiene.I all so think that the employees need

I mailed a package to Ohio returning a power steering pump for a tractor on July 16, 2007. It was sent 2 day priority mail. Today is July 24, and package has not been recieved in Ohio yet. This was from the Georgetown, KY post office. That was my first experience using the USPS and it will be my last. There are many other competitors out there who do deliver on time and do not lose your packages. I have used them before and I will use them again. I feel the USPS is lacking in many ways.

I have an outstanding mail carrier. Yesterday I went to the post office and asked the very pleasant clerk who I could tell how I felt. She suggested the address on the bottom of my receipt.
I went to the address and answered the questionaire concerning the post office but found no place to let you know that your carrier 825 from 447089998 is outstanding and appreciated.

I waited 25 minutes in line with 18 other people. There were 2 clerks, altho one was tied up the whole time with one person. A manager of a local restaurant. Very frustrating. Arlington Hts. Illinois 60004 The employees moved like turtles. One employee was taking care of passports only. These people were also frustrated and could not believe the lengthy wait.

I was very upset this morning to find out that I cannot send parcels overseas anymore by economy mail. If the only way to go is by airmail, it will make it so expensive that some people will not be able to afford to send gifts to their families.
I hope you will reconsider the decision to stop economy mail overseas and bring it back.

Per long-standing practice, my local PO has selected their dumbest & slowest employees available to clog up the service counters (2 out of 4 in service) with NO Postmaster in sight to take complainst. Many customers simply gave up and left, in disgust, after being in a long, stationary line for what seemed like an eternity. Typical USPS operation = raise rates and drop services. And NOBODY in Congress seems to give a damn.

I visited the Reno/Stead on 8/1/07 at 11::am and there was 2 clerks and 10 people in line and to my amazement one of the clerks left and one person was left to help us. Plus several people kept coming in and still only one person. She informed me that she was just there to help out and couldn;t believe her self that the other clerk had closed up and left her. This is no way to run a business even for our government.

I have endured 30+ years of fedgov. mail “service”.
Just like insurance, whenever prices are increased, fedgov. mail “service” is often simultaneously decreased.
When domestic mail takes twice as long, or longer, than international mail, something is rotten!
Fedgov. mail is not accountable to anyone and takes no responsibilty for it`s goof-ups!
All local post offices I have ever dealt with claimed perfection, that they make no mistakes! Whatever goes wrong - delayed, damaged or lost mail - is blamed on the customer or “that other post office” [usually the destination post office]!
Priority Mail is rarely delivered in two business days, or even in three, although fedgov. mail always charges for that speedy Priority Mail delivery! Five to seven business days days is common! Ten days are frequent for certain destination states!
Whenever packages are damaged, customers are said to have caused it by being lousy packers!
I have NEVER been able to get a refund!
And there is no recourse whatsoever!
I am only a peon without wealth and power and political clout, therefore I am not being treated with respect and fairness!!!
August 6th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
My P.O. Box was closed for no reason! It’s been two weeks and I’m still trying to get it resolved. Am so stressed-out! It appears to be an error by a postal worker. Postal workers do not have access to the new computer system to fix the error. A post-card must be sent-up to another main post office. It probably got lost in the mail! Take my advice, don’t call the 800-275-8777 number for help. You’ll be wasting your time! Another example of how our government throws-away our federal money!

in four days. It’s eight days, and Has not arrived as of this moment. I am paying for poor
service, and hoping it will be delivered soon.

I came in to get stamps and the sale clerk never asked if she could help me or anything. She was talking to her co-worker the hole time. I told her I wanted a book of stamps and gave her the money. I didn’t get a thank you ,have a good day, not even a good by. The clerk just kept talking to her co-worker. Where is the good old customer service? I work with the public and I do let them know I am glad to help them in any way I can. This clerk needs to learn it doesn’t take much to atlease speak to your customer and ask if they can help you and a nice good by.

I think if you have three register in the post office you need to have them open instead of just and make people stand in line for long peroids of time people do not want to stand andwait a long time to get there stamps or what ever else they need i can not stand long peorids of time due to back injury but ever time i go to the post office i have to please do something about this

On 8-13-07 I went to the post office in Bountiful,UT 84010 to buy some stamps. There was only one employee at the counter and 19 people in line for service. It took me 20 minutes in line to get my stamps. When the post office was first opened there was a store section for stamps, boxes, etc. An employee was there to help. This service vanished a long time ago. With the price of stamps it seems like they could hire additional employees. Service now is very poor. Why??????

I mailed a package to my grandaughter back in June, to a Dallas TX address. About a week later, I got a call from the HAZMAT division in San Antonio TX asking what sort of hazardous material I was mailing. I explained that it was her birthday and I had sent her 2 t-shirts and some jewelry. They said something toxic was leaking from my package and wanted to know if it was safe to open it. I even got a call from the local TV station asking me what I had mailed that was hazardous. They had picked up an
AP article about something hazardous being mailed from Madisonville TN!! Later the HAZMAT people called back and said the leak was from another package that was on top on mine. Needless to say, my grandaughter never got her birthday present. I went to my local post office in Madisonville (37354) and asked for a refund of the $6.20 Priority Mail fee (I had the receipt). I was told they were not authorized to refund my money, but I never found out who to call to ask for a refund, as they did not know.
I’m glad they were on the ball, but I still think I deserve a refund.

It is Aug 18th and box still not here. Cal;led elgin post office inquiring about 16×16x16 54 lb box and they were quite rude and said will be here when it here. $33.58 later, no clothes for new job and trip on business, no sentimental items for new desk and money just down the drain. I visited the North Andover Office 01845
and was never so embarrased be a worker there.
Our box was locked due to a notice error, and
not the person that was waiting on me but another
decided to put her two cents in,and everyone that was in line knew what was going on. We the retirement system at work have a box there and I was sent for the first time to pick up the mail, well evedently we had not received a bill and the box was locked. she made it known to everyone in line the problem. I think that was so unnecessary to say the least. After all i wouldn’t walk in to the Post Office and start cursing because of an error I found..I do think that was in very very bad taste on her part”"”"”

Dear Sirs, my compliant is regarding denial of service.I am a disabled senior citizen who cannot stand in line for a long period of time. I talked to the supv, a redheaded female who would not serve me or place me at the head of the line,as customary for disabled people. She told me to wait in line as usual. There were approx.25 people in line, some with boxes.this was the first time I have been refused serve as a disabled person.

Around March 8, 2007 I mailed three separate Priority boxes to my son in Charlotte, N.C. To date (9/14/2007) Ben has never received them. They were his birthday gift valued at $250.00. I had made Internet copies of some 60 Pop Music Groups and put them in a binder. Nothing. I wrote the Postmaster General I called the Post Office in Charlotte (28213) Nothing. My son went to the Post Office. Nothing. I wrote to the Dead Letter Center in Atlanta. Nothing. There’s absolutely no excuse for three separate parcels to “get lost.” None. I am out $250.00.. but more importantly my son doesn’t have my 3 days work. This USPS stinks if you ask me. Some employees have “terrible attitudes” and it shows.I have been a proponent of the Post Office for more than 50 years. This experience takes the cake only to be eclipsed by receiving 5 letters returned to me 14 months later “Return To Sender!” Unions protect postal workers but the unions don “groom” professionals. It’s terrible today… seeing you asked me! “No Thanks, U>S>P>S> You stink!

Dear Sir,
This letter is to suggest the Arnold, MD post office (21012) to please return the trash receptacles to the office. I have been a customer there for 25 years and it has always appeared clean and orderly. Recently the “powers that be” made a decision to eliminate the trash cans because someone threw nonpostal trash in them. I also believe that they were too lazy to throw the junk mail away that was deposited in them. Anyway, there is absolutely no place to throw post office refuse (the back of stamps etc.) so people are leaving them on the floor and tables creating a mess. It would be very nice to see the receptacles returned. The Annapolis (21401) and the Severna Park (21146) Post Offices have not eliminated them and their offices look much nicer. A respose would be appreciated.

On Monday Spt. 24th I went into the post office to mail a t-shirt to my son at school. I used the machine to weigh it and it printed out the stamp for me. Well, Tuesday it was in my mail box because it needed .33 more postage. I went to the post office to re-mail it and they said that I should have known it was a parcel not an envelope. Excuse me but I believe the picture of a manilla envelope was right there. The machine weighed it and printed the stamp. The old lady behind the counter said that I needed to read the postal book because all postal clerks knew that it was a parcel. I guess we should be psychic now. She told me this as she was talking into her bluetooth in her ear and smacking away on her gum. By the way, this was the second time I had shipped a t-shirt and the other went through with no problem. It sure is sad when the govt stops a package for .33. I am sure it cost them more than that to ship it back to me. What idiots. This was in downtown Chamblee, Georgia.

I think the Clarksburg NJ postal service is the worse Post office I ever went to. I mailed a package on Sept.18 2007 Priority mail, and it was NOT received to whom I sent it to, and thats not the first time. As for getting my mail I am lucky it I ever get all of it.What is the matter with that Post Office? Where do all the package go when they are not received? Most of the time when I have to mail something important I drive 10 miles to Freehold to Mail it.
October 6th, 2007 at 7:35 am
Very bad service, Sat 10-6-07, Monday is holiday, everyone mailing today, but no help, waited in line almost 1/2 hour. Guess they don’t want my business. It sure looks like post office is pushing customers out the door. Recent increase in price, eliminating service, long lines does not make happy customers, what happened to customer service and lower rates, why must every thing now fly what happened to overseas going by boat to keep cost lower, maybe they should cut out some overhead and hire people to work and serve the public (customers remember us?). Thanks for not listening this survey is probably a joke too, like the service I got today.

THE USPS HERE REFUSES TO DELIVER PACKAGES TO ME EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PUT A N ICE CONTAINER RIGHT BYU THE MAILBOX ON THE ROAD FOR THEM TO LEAVE PACKAGES. I am disabled and unable to drive to the post offce and unable to carry out a package if I were able to drive therre.
October 6th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
they claim it is a high traffic road,so they cannot drive up my driveway to drop off packages.
HIGH traffic? i am in the sticks in the middle of nowhere and very seldom does a car even drive by
I had ordered $300 of dried soup, dried potatoes, etc for winter because i will be snowed in for at least 6 months and i begged the postmistress to just have the carrier deliver those boxes here as I have 1 broken arm, shattered shoulder and need the other arm for my cane to balance,so how am I to carry packages out of the post office to my truck-the carrier is 100 feet from my porch and he is too darn lazy to drop off a package even when it is emergency food for me for winter.
I asked them to put the packages on the ground by my mailbox and then I could just pull them up to y hluse on m y sled and again they refused. I put a plastic container and garbage bags by the m ailbox and asked that they leave the packages in the container or in a bag on the ground-once again,i am totally in the sticks and there is no way anyone would steal the stuff as there is no one here-i am alone for miles and miles.

Your service in Colorado Springs area is the worst I’ve seen in 69 yrs.On 12-12-06 it took a letter 18 days to get to City of Industry, Ca.This cost me my credit card.On 10-2-07 I sent a box to Bay.,P.R. It has not arrive yet. On 10-5-07 I sent another box by priority mail to Bayamon,P.R..Today is the 13th and no sign of the box. I went to your offices here and I want a credit to my credit card account for a service not rendered. If you can not handle it,don’t sell it. I belive it is called fraud.
October 13th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
I forgot to tell you, I started a claim with your offices on 10-13-07. I will refuse to pay my credit card your charges for services not rendered. If we can not trust the US Postal Dept. Who do we trust?
October 18th, 2007 at 8:09 am
Your rates to mail a box that weighed 2lb 1.80oz was 7.02. the box was not large, depth of box no more than 2′’ Your rates are outrageous. then I asked the teller for a rate sheet and he does not have any. He says you can get it on line. Using the web address on the sales receipt. Well here I am and I can not find any rate sheets. Your postal service is inadequate. Lines are long. I hear alot of things from other people about the management staff at the post office. Legion road one especially. Not nice manager and do not treat their employees very nice. I have heard that many times. As a Loss Prevention Manager myself, Your postal service should learn that treating employees with respect and decency will always make them more productive and feel good about their job and company. Your managers must be a bunch of idiotts. because I have heard this so often.
Try to improve because your rates are so high, I c an not continue doing business with you.

POST OFFICE 601819998. 10/20/ 2007. 09:29:58 AM. CLERK # 02. NAME TAG KAREN. BILL # 1000300403739. I VISIT THIS POST OFFICE SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK, FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. I HAD NEED TO SEND A EXPRESS ENVELOPE TODAY. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS SERVICE BEFORE. I HAD FILLED OUT THE WRONG FORM KAREN WAS OF GREAT HELP, IN MY COMPLETING THIS TRANSACTION. I COULD NOT READ THE SMALL PRINT, ON THE CORRECT FORM. SHE READ THAT FOR ME. EXPLAINED EXACTLY HOW THIS PROCEDURE WOULD FUNCTION. SHE THEN FOUND TEN SHEETS OF AN OLDER TIFFANY STAMP I WANTED, BY CHECKING OTHER CO-WORKERS SUPPLY. SHE ALSO FOUND SOME 2 CENT STAMPS AND, SOME 1 CENT STAMPS THAT I WANTED. SHE HAS WAITED ON ME IN THE PAST. SHE IS REALLY TO BE COMMENDED. SHE ALWAYS HAS A FRIENDLY GREETING, AND SMILE FOR ALL CUSTOMERS. SHE ALWAYS SAYS THANK YOU, AND ASK IF SHE COULD BE OF ANY FURTHER ASSISSTANCE. SHE IS POLITE, EFFICIENT, FAST, AND A CONSTANT JOY TO DEAL WITH. SHE IS THE STANDARD , OF HOW ALL POSTAL CLERKS SHOULD ACT. SHE SHOULD BE PART OF A TRAINING PROGRAM, FOR NEW EMPLOYEES. SHE ALWAYS CREATES AN EXPERIENCE, FOR WHICH A CUSTOMER IS WILLING TO RETURN. WE, THE CUSTOMERS, ARE THE REAL BOSSES. SINCERELY, THOMAS E. DIGANCI. 630-617-2260.

Service at the Rosewood sales office (99208) was more than excellent. I was called out of a waiting line by a clerk who delt with stamp and postage sales.
I do have a complaint about the drive thru mail drop boxes which are too high for usual size automobiles but just right for pick-up trucks, SUV’s and 18 wheeler tractors. I suggest that at least one of the boxes be replaced with one which stands at a shorter level for the use of the patriots who DO NOT drive gasoline guzzlers.

I used the USPS link on eBay, to print mailing labels for two packages I needed to ship.
The first package went to the wrong post office, then got sent to another post office where it SAT, for about a week, before it finally got sent to the correct post office. In the meantime, the woman the package was supposed to go to, got irate with me, thinking I was trying to SCAM her. She even threatened to file a dispute against me with eBay.
I absolutely DON’T blame her. I might have reacted the same way.
Likewise, the second package went to the wrong place, but, thankfully, that lady was real laid
back about it.
Trying to figure out what happened to those packages, at a time when I was having to go to the library to use the computer, (mine died), and having a medical problem, and being in a lot of pain, was very, very stressful for me.
It’s shameful that these postal workers get paid so much, but take no pride on their work.
Unfortunately, it’s not just the P.O..
There are lots of people who just GO to their place of business, in order to collect a paycheck.
It’s a sad commentary for America.

To Whom It May Concern, I am very upset with the service. On 9-26-07 I mailed 2 pkgs. of cookies to my grandchildren, one in N.Y. one in Boston. Neither of them were ever received. They were sent priority and I paid $18.05 for both. I asked the clerk if I should insure them & he replied in the negative. Of course I regret that decision. I feel I should have some recourse. My address is 240 E. Verdugo Ave. Apt 322 Burbank, Ca.91502 The bill # is 1000202660170 Since this is 10-27-07 what is your suggestion. I hope to hear from you. Thank you for your attention

In the 47 years I have lived in this city, I may have gone to our post office 10 times and either encountered unfriendly service and a very long
waiting period. The postoffice of our neighboring city : Roseville, MI 480669998 is the friendliest most organized office and I have written to the postmaster to let him know. If the
line is long, there are often 5 windows open, and
the postmaster is standing in the background making sure everything is running smoothly.
No wonder they were rated a 5-star postoffice, and they deserve that honor!

I had a very pleasant experience at the McDonough, GA Post Office on October 29, 2007 around 2:15 P.M. The Postal Clerk (#05)that assisted me was most informative, patient and helped me follow through with understanding the kind of services I needed to send the mail I had. She was courteous and respectful…I am a Senior citizen and her attentiveness was most appreciated.

SPRINGFIELD MAIN POST OFFICE
clerk # 19
is very rud, I hope some one will let her know
that she doesn’t belong there.I would like to tell her to look for a noncutomer service kind of job.She needs an attitude fix.
November 7th, 2007 at 9:38 am
My recent trip to the post office was like 99% of my trips there. I have to stand in line for from 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Our area is not that big. There really should be more clerks available at all times of the day to wait on the customers. It is so discouraging to walk in the post office knowing you must go to the service desk, and seeing ten to fifteen people in line ahead of you, with only one window open.
November 10th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
11/07/07 I called in a complaint, was suppose to receive a call back, never happened. Looking at the messsages I would say you are probably understaffed? I mailed 5 bxs from the Livermore postoffice on 22, I had the postal customer help me with the order. 4 of the bxs were going to livermore 3 were received within 3 days the other showed up on 11/6/07, it took 10 days from livermore to livermore. I think their is definity a problem & I was also told that it goes to Oakland first? URGENT USPS email sysytem does not work. I placed an order & the order was completed & I never did receive my order . It is in your sysytem some where.
Sincerely
Inez

I mailed a package today (11/13/07) at the Mesa Desert post office in Mesa, Az. and the clerk, #06 was very pleasant and helpful in getting me the cheapest rates possible. She very carefully explained to me just how I could track the package that I mailed. I would also like to say that the other two clerks were pleasant with helping other customers.

Mailed a package Priority Mail to 77433 Zone 7
When recived it had been cut open, and product gone. 11/17/2007
How do we trust the postal service, even with insurance, its the time, thought, packaging, the love that goes with a package to the receiver, the disappointment of the receiver. Who do we hold accountable, sometimes sorry doesn’t work.
By all the other comments I read, I’m not alone and where only the onces that took time and wrote. today’s date 11/20/2007

I have been informed by a billing agency in our general area that I was sent statements for 4 consecutive months. I never received any. I have an idea they were never sent.
Is there any way to track by date mailings from sender (I can furnish the name) to me?
November 27th, 2007 at 9:29 am
I recently sent a package from Ma to ME via priority mail on 11/17. I was told that it would be delivered on Monday or Tues at the latest. Surprise, it never arrived until late Friday 11/23. So much for priority mail.

I mailed 4 boxes for Christmas to Bridgewater, MA each box cost about 19.68 eash with a weight of 21.50 pounds. Each box took at least two weeks, one which was mailed by itself still has not arrived and was mailed on the 19 of November. We were told about a week. Why bother to mail early when the service is so slow anyway.

My husband & I own a business in Chicago. Over the last couple of months, mail delivery has been delayed. We receive mail 3-4 weeks after the postmarked date! Also, some self-addressed bar coded envelopes that we provide for our customer payments are being returned to our customers labeled “invalid address”.(We have NOT changed our envelopes. The return address and bar code is correct) I have complained repeatedly to the Chicago Clearing post office(on Archer Avenue)
The postal processing office stamped on all the delayed mail is that in Bedford Park. Our customers are complaining to us because we continue to bill them for payments they claim to have mailed. This is a real problem and needs resolution. Please investigate this matter promptly. Thank You Marilyn Rubin

why would the p o take out the lobby stamp mechines and make all have to stand in long lines just to buy stamps, this is the most rediculus move the P.O. has done to date I think, not that overall the P.O. is very smart in any way. see the above remarks about the lines at the counter.

seems the 2 clerks were too worried about where they were going to lunch than take care of customers that were backed out the door

Sent a small letter size package from Bflo, NY, to Erie, PA,(100 miles) via Priority mail on 12/3 with the promise of 2 to 3 day delivery. Not there on 12/6/07. Tracking system could tell me nothing. Human I spoke with said that 2 to 3 day delivery was not guaranteed! Why do all the postal service people use that line then? I paid extra for the Priority service.
Additionally, a card I mailed on 11/23 was returned with address unknown/could not forward, etc. The name, address, ZIP, etc., are all correct. This is the second time in the past three months that the same thing has occurred. In addition, I am receiving envelopes in poor condition: corners ripped off, etc. The returned card came back that way also. I’d like to know what’s happening with the postal system.

12,11,2007 at 9:19 am I stopped at the post office on my way home in Scott, La.70583182 2165690883-0097 to purchase a roll of stamps. While wating in line i asked the person behind the desk to use the bathroom,he said there was non ,I said i really had to pee(it had started to leak) i told him i had a bladder problem but no again. I bought my stamps hurried out to go to pee and backed into a truck . Ihad to call the police and had to go behind a dumpster in the yard and pee.
How about that for our federal gov. Oh I also called the Health and Sanatition Board and reported the problem. Now i will have to pay for a persons bumper.
Who is going to reinburst me for a bumper. All i wanted was buy stamps and to pee.

Nightmare!!! On 12/14 at 17:30 Hr, I went to the Golden Gate Postal Service to deal some errands. The person I was working for weeks had just finished her shift and I was passed to another employee who was not customer oriented and probably was rushing to go home. She told me to try a ‘key’ and did not direct me to where the ‘box’ was located. So I informed her that I will be back & was leaving my package. Perhaps, a few minutes had passed and there was another person at her counter, so I jumped in front and everyone standing in line was joining the ‘band-wagon’ yelling at me that I cut in line. The employee that was working w/ me did not even bother to explain to the public that I did not cut before them. The postal employee kept her mouth shut and was gleaming while the people were shouting at me. To make matters worse the manager of the post office did not help to intervine. She believed the public especially the Black woman who shouted the loudest. Naturally I became defensive because I was a publicly humiliated and after my transaction the manager chased me out!!!. I will be filing a formal complaint w/ the General Manager if not the postal inspector!!!

The Portsmouth Post Office is always superb in
service, it’s the coustomers that have bad days
and make it miserable for all who are around them.
The workers put up with it no matter what. I can’t understand why people are so inconsiderate
of other people around them, but I guess it is
the attitude a lot of people have today, It’s
all about Me and nobody else! They make every-
body around them miserable as they are. Scale
1 to 10 it is rated at the top 10. Roy

I totaly agree with it seems every one else… your guaranteed a certain amount of days for your packages to arrive to their destination and actually alls that we got were lies…my package was taken to the Albemarle NC PO on 12/11/07 and was guaranteed to arrive in Whiting NJ no later than the 14th.. well i know that these other people that left comments… DID NOT HAPPEN!!!It is now the 17th and still alls my PO can tell me is that they accepted it… Well excuse me but I already know that!!! After all we are the ones that took it there… alls I would like to know is WHERE IS IT!!! and why cant I find out where it is..even though its the Holidays ..the holidays happen every year!! why cant you be honest with people and figure the back up in with the delivery date that you give.. I agree.. I think that yous stink!!!

I attendant #5 on my receipt, was crabby, rude and horrible to the lady in front of me… There were only a total of 3 people to be waited on and she is a complete GROUCH… I would drive to Omaha before I would ever go back there again.

On 12-10-07 I filed in person a “Hold my Mail for the 12th Dec.thru the 17th and would pick it up the 18th. When we arrived home our box was STUFFED full of 5 days mail. . I contacted a supervisor about it and all I got was an apology several times during our conversation which did not satisfy me as to why this happened. There were several items that I did not care to have sticking out of the box that were very important .

On 12/12/07 at 9:55 a.m I was at the Market Squre Station. There was only one teller. When I finally got to the desk, I told her it was media mailing and she stated that the packages would be opened. I told her that I had never been told that at any other post office. She stated that rules changes. I said that the public should know ahead of time like with anything else. She then said, God has rules. You as a Christian should know that. Frankly, speaking this woman did not know me from Adam. If the rules have changed, then they should be posted for people to know. I learned today, 12/21/07 that my packages had been opened and books within one were torn! Clerk #02, I hope she has a great holiday with anything she took from those packages and for destroying others. God bless her and I will pray for her in a way she will know! If anyone wants a copy of my receipt or contact me, do it by mail. Thanks you, Genesis A. Slaughter MERRY CHRISTMAS & A BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL INCLUDING CLERK 02
December 21st, 2007 at 12:31 pm
By the way, on 12/12/07 Clerk 02 never asked me for Identification when she used my credit card to pay for my purchase. She claimed she did not need it i.d which was why she held on to my card until the transaction was complete. How would she know that I was using the right card just because an address was on the box. I could have been anyone mailing those boxes. You may get complaints from others and truthfully, I hope she gets fired.

I mailed packages on the 17 with priority mail but wihtout the extra signature since I talk to the recipients everyday. I am extremely dissappointed that they still have not received the packages after four days which you guaranteed with two. USPS is always adding something on to insure that the packages are to get there. If we don’t take the add-ons, does that mean the USPS isn’t responsible for what we mail and we are just lost out on everything we mailed?
December 21st, 2007 at 5:14 pm
Last Saturday Dec 15, 2007 I sent a package priority mail certified. Was told by Priority mail it would be there in a few days (2-3 is what you advertise). It went to Federal Way, WA on the 19th and yesterday on the 21st in arrived at a post ofice unit in Phoenix. Still not there, it will be a week tommorow. My receipt SAYS Priority…This is not the first delayed priority package, this gets old.

the chambersburg office will give you the worse experience in your life, and this is the second time with the same exact experience 3 years difference but the same postal people!! Horrible I hope someone gets back to me to hear my complete story!!(and imagine my daughter is a letter carrier and that didn’t help me at all only John at the annex was of great help in fact he just recieved my lost check from Dec.1st and today is Dec.22 what a joke- especially for people who depend on their mail to live and pay their bills!!I could have been evicted by now and with no eletricity all because of a neglectful postal worker(which in my mind was on purpose being the fact; second time; same experience!!!!!!!!!!
if u want a tragic experience just change your address at the chambersburg post office ( a change I made on Nov.1st they couldnt get right in a month now i cancelled the box and left no forwarding address i did what Kramer of Seinfeld tried to do cancelled my mail)I paid $43.00 for a box cancelled on Dec. 12 and only recieved $21.00 refund but i left them holding the mail now what will they do with my mail? I don’t give a flying reindeer but they will never get a change of address from me again. Now I am a non-postal fan
signed keep my mail and send it back

I paid pacel post for a package mailed to Massachusetts from NJ. I mailed it on the 17th of Dec. with assurance it would arrive on the 19th or 20th. Today is the 24th & no package has been delivered. I trusted the postal worker & my family members have no Christmas gifts from me!
December 28th, 2007 at 9:15 am
I have been trying for a year to convince the post office that I know what my street address is. Shortly after we moved to this address on Dec. 19, 2006 the P.O. began sending out little yellow labels on mail advising that our address is 161 Spring Meadow Lane even though I had submitted a change of address for 165 Spring Meadow Lane. I thought I had about gotten it settled with all my correspondents, when suddenly about mid year I began receiving mail addressed to 161, which is a non-existent address. The confusion has resulted in one credit card statement being returned for wrong address. I have gone to usps.com/household who sent me an address at San Antonio. The fact that usps.com/household sent me a purple card with the 161 address hasn’t made me more comfortable, and I’m still trying to correct the problem. Maybe we could sell the house and move, not tell buyer.

I mailed a Christmas package on 12/20/07 from Capitol Hgts., MD to Charlotte, NC. As of today (12/30/07) the Christmas package has not reached the recipient. I was not worried about the package reaching its destination by Christmas nor did I insure the package. I feel that ten calendar days is more than ample time for the delivery time. I believe without insurance that I have no way of tracking my package. I guess my package and shipping fee goes down the drain. Still hoping it will show up soon.

I WENT TO THE POST OFFICE TO BUY STAMPS FROM THE OUTSIDE LOBBY MACHINE—-IT WAS BROKEN. I HAD TO WAIT IN A LONG LINE TO BUY TWO BOOKS OF STAMPS. WHEN SOMETHING IS BROKEN, I FEEL ONE WINDOW SHOULD ONLY SELL STAMPS. THIS POST OFFICE ALWAYS INVOLVES LONG LINES.
December 31st, 2007 at 4:58 pm
why do i have to waste my valuble time standing in line, every single time I go to ” A N Y ” branch of the U.S.P.S. ? ? ? BECAUSE EIGHTEEN OR SO PEOPLE ARE IN LINE AHEAD OF ME. AND ONLY ” ONE OR TWO ” EMPLOYEES ARE SERVICING THE LINES. THE PRICES KEEP GOING UP, AND THE QUALITY OF SERVICES KEEPS GOING DOWN … HARD TO TELL WHICH IS DEGRADING FASTER… OH WELL , OUR TAX DOLLARS HA, HA, HARD AT WORK
January 2nd, 2008 at 7:26 am
I just returned from the Post Office in Sprigfield, NJ on Mountain Ave and encountered an extremely rude person at the desk. Very bad attitude. It is unortunate that epople within the community have to fall victim to these unpleasant and ignorant clerks. They are hasty and behave as though they are doing YOU a favour! I believe that if someone is unhappy in their job, then they should not be in an area such as customer service. I have sadly allowed this to put a damper on my day but I will surely get over it. It just makes me angry to know that my children have to grow up in a society where people are unnecessarily rude and nasty! I wish took note of her name because I know the Mayor personally and this issue deserves to go further.
January 2nd, 2008 at 4:39 pm
Well, here I go again, wasting more of my time with this comment. I guess I will never learn. Dealing with usps has been a total NIGHTMARE for me. Since July 9, 2007 I have been given the runaround over a valuable package that was sent to Germany (postage charge was $115.00) valued at $500.00 and never delivered or returned to me. I have spoken with rude, snappy, nasty etc. usps representitives and have waited endless hours, total time, on hold and/or playing the telephone game..you know, the automated one that you play 20 questions with only to be told case was accidently closed in September and then needed to be reopened and I would have to wait to call again for the status. Well, I HAVE called for the status only to be told that I need to call back in another 17 days, blah, blah, blah. Today I called as instructed, spent my 30 minutes on hold waiting to be connected to the international agent who was “busy” with other customers. When finally connected, guess what I got? ANOTHER recording saying that the system was down and call back again tomorrow. Now, I am livid! With the amount of money we all spend for service, you would think that the system could be updated enough to prevent “going down” or there would be more then two agents to cover 40 people in line or that the priority mail we send at the extra charge would arrive in the 3 day time frame promised instead of the two weeks it presently takes. The usps now has $615.00 of my hard earned money ie. merchandise, and I have no satisfaction to date. I can hardly wait…tomorrow’s another day.

My complaint is that I mailed a Christmas package to my grandkids in Duncanville, Tx.,suburb of Dallas, on Dec. 19, and they have yet to receive it!Apparently the problem is in Dallas, as it left my town on time. Wonder why they’re holding on to it, and not delivering it?????
January 4th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
I have been blessed to use this P.O. for eleven years. The same wonderful people have always been so great. The only problem (and it no fault of theirs) is the rude Yankees that cut in line and never want to take their turn. The two employees that manage this P.O. should have the best award that could be given.
January 5th, 2008 at 4:37 am
I was at the Atlantic City NJ Main P.O. last Friday ( 01/04/08 ) at 2pm. The line as always was long. It has always been the case for the past 71/2 years but the postal employees has always been courteous and helpful. In this particular afternoon, I waited patiently for my turn. I was off from work so I was not really affected by the long line. Finally it was my turn. Clerk # 19 ( the lady I was dealing with ) was very courteous and helpful. I have no complains against her. She helped me and was very gracious. It was the postal worker next to her ( Jack ) who was very rude to me. I needed to accomplished 2 things in that trip to the PO. First I need to return a postal money order that I bought because of overpayment and the second is to buy another money order. The second money order is worth a little over $ 600.00. The first debit card that I used decline. It was my husband, so I call my husband who was waiting for me outside the PO parking lot. It was a quick call less then 25 seconds, and I called him up while the lady I was dealing with tried the second time to use the debit card. So when it declined the second time, I told Clerk #19 if I can use another debit card. This time my own debit card. And she graciously said yes. It was at this point that the PO employee beside her started telling me ” we have a long line here ” He was so RUDE AND SNAPPY AND SO INSENSITIVE . First of all I was not dealing with him, and second it was never my intention to hold the line. I waited patiently for my turn, some costumers take more time than other because they have one or two issues to deal with, or they need to accomplish one or two things. Like in my case, I returned a money order worth $ 40.00, bought another one for $ 10.00 and one more for $ 600+. So naturally, this transaction will require more time which I am sure is a regular occurence in the day to day life of a postal employee. I work in a healthcare setting and some people require more attention than the other, but this doesn’t give me the right to be rude, or snappy or insensitive to the people I deal with because I CARE, LOVE AND RESPECT my job.
January 6th, 2008 at 8:02 am
On dec.27, 2007 I sent some time sensitive original documents return receipt certified mail, as suggested by the postal employee who assisted me. It is now january 6, 2008 and no one can tell me what happened to these documents after i paid my fee and left the p.o.. they were rude and nasty but above-all they were, and remain, incompetent. This is not the first time I have had lost mail at the 13th ave. branch in brooklyn, new york. There were so many other disgruntled people on line with me that it would be in everyones best interest to close this branch.
January 7th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
During the last two weeks, I have visited four different post offices in the Washington metro area.
The service was superb! The staff were very accommodating to me and to the other customers that I observed. The post offices were in very good conditions and people were accommodated by a supervisor who came out to assist (McPherson Station - National Capital Station - Adams Morgan - Curseen Brentwood).

GENEVA, N.Y. POST OFFICE 14456
I WAITED FOR OVER 20 MIN. FOR THE P.O. TO OPEN. I WAS INSIDE. THE CLERK FINALLY CAME OUT AT 8:33, OPENED THE FRONT DOORS 1ST FOR THREE PEOPLE WHO HAD JUST WALKED UP, THEN CAME TO OPEN THE GATE. I WAS STANDING RIGHT BY THE GATE AND SHE DROPPED THE CHAIN AND GOT SNOTTY WITH ME BECAUSE I WAS IN HER WAY TO PICK UP THE CHAIN. I TOLD HER, “WELL I HAVE BEEN STANDING HERE FOR OVER 20 MINUTES WAITING TO GET IN.” (I WOULD NOT HAVE SAID ANYTHING IF SHE HAD NOT GOT SNOTTY FOR ME TO GET OUT OF HER WAY SO SHE COULD PICK UP THE CHAIN.) I WOULD HAVE GIVEN HER AN AGGRAVATED LOOK, BUT I WOULD NOT HAVE SAID ANYTHING. SHE SAID “SO”. I WAS TALKING TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER ABOUT IT AND I SAID THERE WAS NO REASON FOR HER TO BE RUDE TO ME, I STOOD THERE ALL THAT TIME AND SHE LET THE OTHER PEOPLE IN FIRST AND THEN GOT SNOTTY WITH ME, I DID NOT KNOW I WAS IN HER WAY” SO WHEN I GOT TO THE COUNTER I GAVE HER MY SLIPS FOR TWO PACKAGES AND SAID I WOULD LIKE TO CLOSE MY P.O. BOX. SHE SAID “GOOD”. I LEFT AND THEN WENT BACK AND WAITED IN LINE SO I COULD GET HER NAME. I BOUGHT TWO STAMPS. SHE SAID YOU ARE NOT REALLY GOING TO CLOSE YOU BOX ARE YOU, THAT IS JUST SILLY.” I TOLD HER “YES, I AM BECAUSE I DID NOT GET RUDE WITH YOU, YOU GOT RUDE WITH ME, I STOOD THERE ALL THAT TIME AND WAS AT THE BACK OF THE LINE WHEN THEY JUST WALKED UP.” SHE SAID “SO, YOU WERE THIRD IN LINE, I ALWAYS OPEN THE DOOR FIRST AND THE PEOPLE CAME UP HERE AND SAID YOU WERE GRUMBLING..” I TOLD HER “I WAS NOT GRUMBLING, I SAID YOU WERE RUDE AND SNOTTY TO ME AND I MEANT FOR YOU TO HERE ME SAY IT, I DID NOT GET SNOTTY WITH YOU, YOU GOT AGGRAVATED BECAUSE I WAS IN YOUR WAY WHEN YOU DROPPED THE CHAIN.” SHE SAID “WELL, YOU SHOULD NOT CLOSE YOUR BOX OVER THAT IT IS JUST SILLY.” I BOUGHT MY TWO STAMPS AND TOLD HER TO HAVE A NICE DAY AND I WALKED OUT. I DO NOT DISRESPECT ANYONE SHE CERTAINLY DISRESPECTED ME.

I received my anual box fee in my box for 52.00 and sent a check back with the amount and a note for them to reply to me about the raise in box fee. I received my receipt but no reply. Why did it go up so much? I know alot of people at other towns that don’t pay that much for a p.o. box. Some even get theres free. Why did they not reply? This is not good service.

To Whom It may Concern.
I have a complaint why is it it takes almost 2 weeks for a Priority mail to get to a destination,i pay extra for it to get there and then wait and wait for it to get there, they said Florida is slow i know that but not 2 weeks,i use to live there, plus i know from within the PO that the post master waits till it get full before it goes out, plus we have a po box and the mail carrier knows we dont have home delivery
and havent had it forever like 7 yrs and we notify everyone we have a PO box
sometimes one slips up and when it comes to my home address they send it back, they stamp on envelope unknown and everyone in town knows us and when
once it came with our name and 10 J street which J is my husbands first name it gets to us.WE live in Enfield NH. The mail is terrible in this town, we even have a stamp machine and has never been filled it would be convient to have it fixed especially when its busy. Please see what you can do.

I am a customer of the Charles A. Hayes Sta. I only use the windows for receiving certified mail. My last two visits to these windows , when presenting the notification slips I received the comment from the clerks “Are you this person, is this you, what are you doing with this kind of name?” I am of the gender Male. What difference does it make if it is me or not when I present my ID along with the slip I should receive no remarks such as those above. You should instruct your clerks not to make remarks as the ones above but just accept the ID presented. We have no reason as to why we were given the names we have, please give your employees some needed instructions in serving the public.

This is a poor survey form-make it easier, more q+a lines.
However, my comment is an accolade. On 12-27-07 I was ably assisted at po 040739998 in renewing my passport. I was led to believe it would be weeks/months before I saw my current and renewal one. Eleven days later it was in my mailbox! I called the po indicated and told the master my story. He was pretty cavalier about it, saying that’s what they DO (not always, believe me), but I was nonplussed, because the whole op went smoothly from po to Homeland Security to po. The job WAS well done!

I have all of my credit cards on the back of signature,”photo id” to prevent id thief and have no problem with all others expect this location. A male at Concord station Smyrna, GA demanded me to sign my name on my back of credit card. Naturally I refused to sign my name. I prefer photo id, not my signature to prevent id thief.
I do not appreciate him to force me to sign my name on my back of credit card. This one is my problem that won’t honor my protection of my credit cards from id thief.
Also, everytime went there and waited a long time with long lines. :>(
Thank you.

Lois, Louise and Allison are an asset to the US postal service, always extremely helpfull and patient. This is important to a senior citizen as myself. There are many times I have entered the post office extremely stressed and I always was made to leave with a smile.
The Postal service should employ more people like them.

Mailed two flat rate boxes to Rossford Ohio and neither has been received. One was mailed one month ago. I believe you have someone stealing mail.

I mailed a pkg and paid for priority mail (2-3 days) and here it is 6 days since then and its still not there! “Refunds for guaranteed services only” the receipt says. When I go to the poll website I get a site to sign up to give my opinion for other things. I don’t want that!

Hi, Had a very nice and pleasant experience today at the West Englewood Station in Teaneck NJ 07666. My postal clerk was:03 Allison.
She went out of her way to satisfy my needs.
She did it professionally and willingly.
We are lucky indeed to have such fine people in the Teaneck Postal Service.

I went to the post office on Saturday, 3/01/08 and the service was a nightmare. There was a customer that had a lot of boxes to mail (maybe 50 or more) and only two clerks. One clerk working on this customer and the other clerk who disappeared. The customer adviced us where the other post offices were. If she knew this, then why did she not go to those other Post offices. The manager refused to do anything. Customer with too many boxes should show up at certain time, like passport hours, and the post office should have a clerk to assist these over demanding customers. We need to privatize the Postal Office.

Your Bear Valley Station is staffed with very friendly and professional people.
Thay know thier business, are extremely helpful and accomodating.
They are the exact opposite of all the stories that come from other parts of the country.
They deserve extra special recognition!

I have one question ……….why did it take a package sent priority mail on 3/6/08 to McKinney, Texas 12 days to get there? I spent $29.80 to mail it priority so it would arrive in plenty of time for my grandchildren’s(twins) birthday, which was March 17th. It finally arrived March 18th, 12 days later. If I knew it would have taken that long, I could have saved some money and sent it parcel post, maybe it would have gotten there in time.I think you owe me some money back.
I called the 1-800-ASK-USPS number the post office had given me and was informed the systems were down and call back later.
The more the postage goes up the worse the service gets.
March 24th, 2008 at 10:40 am
It wouldn’t be so bad when postal rates went up if customer service went up as well. At our post office all the employees are frustrated and are spending all their time waiting on passport customers while postal customers stand in line.

I had mailed a men’s jacket (for my nephew in Kathmandu, Nepal) from the US Post Office located at Pensacola street, Tallahassee, FL on 12/26/2007 at 05:17:27 pm. For this, I have spent almost $ 50.00 hard earned money and it has been almost 3 full months and the jacket never reached at the post office in Kathmandu, Nepal. I asked questions many times to the clerks at the US Post Office at Tallahassee for the reason why the jacket never reach Nepal. None of them able to give me an answer. They say they don’t know and they cannot answer. When they received the package from me and I am paying for the service that they are supposed to give, why can’t they give me a satisfactory answer or atleast the status of my package??? They lost my $ 50. worth of package and they don’t responsible for that at all. What a SHAME people !!! What a disgusting service !!!! My experience with the US Postal Service is VERY BAD !!! I don not trust them anymore..
March 24th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
I called the 1-800-ASK-USPS number (at least 10 times within past 2 months) the clerks gave me, every time I get a ready made answer ” Delivery status not available at this time”.. It has been almost full 3 months that I had sent the package to Kathmandu, Nepal from Tallahassee, Florida and the 1-800-ASK-USPS number still don’t have an answer for me. Will they ever have an asnwer for me??????????????????????? or Will the USPS ever deliver my package or return it to me ??????????

IT SEEMS THAT THE POSTAL SERVICE LACKS LEADERSHIP AND UPDATING ALL OF THE OLD METHOD USED IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A BETTER SERVICE. THE SYSTEM STRUCTURE IS GEARED FOR INEFICIENCY. THE MORE THE SUPERVISOR SAVES THE BIGGER THE BONUS AND THE LONG LINES PREVAILING ALL OVER THE POSTAL SYSTEM. IT SEEMS THAT THE SUPERVISORY POSITIONS ARE GIVEN TO THOSE IN THE MUTUAL ADMIRATION SOCIETY INSTEAD OF THOSE BEST QUALIFYED.

Two of your clerks at Prestonwood Station in Dallas, Texas were very loud and rude and would not offer to help at all in any form or fashion. They told me they could not attach stamps to an envelope. There was no manager on site to report this incident. I would appreciate it if the clerks could be courteous and helpful. They are new clerks I have never seen before after coming to this post office for over thirty years. I called the 800 number to try to get some assistance and the man who answered could not help because he didn’t know anything about it. Can we get a little something back for our money. The prices go up and the service seems to get worse.

The mail service in Eugene Oregon sucks. As some of the above comments states, there are not
enough clerks to handle the volume. There is never more than 3 clerks at the 6 stations in the
post office. The lines are a mile long and they
just don’t seem to give a dam whether they wait on you or not. I try to use Fed Ex or UPS for most of my package mailing, especially around the
Christmas season.
April 10th, 2008 at 6:12 am
A sizeable percentage of the postal customers at the main post office on Boardwalk in Fort Collins is Colorado State University students. Most of them seem never to have conducted business with the Postal Service in their lives and whatever they are there to do takes several times as long to complete as it does for other customers. Often a student steps up to the counter with an armload of miscellaneous items and expects the postal clerk to pack them in a box and prepare the box for shipping–while other customers WAIT. Why can’t the USPS open a branch office on the CSU campus to service these students? It would greatly speed up service for other customers.
(PS: Does anyone in the USPS read any of these comments?)

Today I went to the Schererville,In 463759998 post office and was thrilled at the friendly and helpfulness of the clerks.Really a nice experience.Feels like you’re wanted.
If we only had the same atmosphere in my town postal office,Merrillville,In 46410 it would be great!!

I don’t understand the stamps for ever. If I would buy a thousand or more for 41 cents each then I could use them for as long as I live with out paying any more? Am I going nuts?

This morning I had several items of mail to send out from the Forest Plaza Branch Office of the Dayton, Ohio Post Office. I was in a hurry since it was about 8.30 AM, so I was rather apprehensive when I noticed a line of several people at the single position which was attended. To my great pleasure the highly efficient and knowledgable clerk took care of all the customers in a very friendly and competent manner so that I was not delayed in making my next appointment. Thank you!
April 14th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Three stations w/ only two workers. Wait 30 min. with line out of the door. The clerks were great, but surely overworked….With the volume of customers why doesn’t someone notice that the growth in Smyrna, Tn. requires more clerks than we had 2-3 years ago.
I don’t know how the clerks keep from pulling their hair out, with all the compaints about waiting. They still were couteous and efficient.
They deserve medals and a raise plus HELP!!

To Whom it may Concern: April/15/08
It has been almost Two ,mos. that I mailed a Pkg, to a Mr Ted Barker who lives in Apopka ,Fl
I sent it First Class Mail.Didn’t insure it as it wasn’t necessary. The Pkg, should have arrived the next Day or so.It hasn’t been Delivered as of this Day.April -15-08 .I am having a very difficult time understanding why it hasn’t .I had the addresses correct. And even if I didn’t have the addresse’s address correct ,it would appear that it would come back to me.This is inexcuseable. It must have just been thrown in the Trash. So I will no longer send any Pkg’s by the U.S. Postal Service. In this Day and age it just seems to me there should be no reason a Pkg, shouldn’t reach a customer.Respectfully a very dissatisfied customer.

Lettermailed airmail to Accra, Ghana on 3/25/08 and as of today 4/17/08 they have not received it. Should it take this long to get there?
April 21st, 2008 at 8:35 am
Waited 15+ min. for service. I was in a line of about 15-20; I was about the 10th in line. Only ONE clerk serving customers. This it totally unacceptable! !
April 24th, 2008 at 5:54 am
Despite delivery confirmation a package containing a irreplacable dental retainer was lost! way to go postal service!
April 24th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Postal employees are required to ask MANY questions to the customer mailing a package that delays the long lines at the Sun City post office in California. Do you want “delivery confirmation”, “express mail” “return receipt”,”insurance”, “would you like them to sign for it”. “passport”, “stamps” and the list goes on. The Supervisor said these questions are required at all post offices. When I go up to the counter, I tell them exactly what I need yet they have to ask all these other questions or they get in trouble. I am there almost everyday but the same questions are again asked. Other post offices do not have the same problem and when I tell them what is required on my package, it’s processed. I understand after 9/11 things changed but when you are very specific that should be the end of it. Lines would move faster. By the way, the postal employess at the windows are fantastic. Would love if this matter can be looked into and perhaps the lines would move faster.

I feel when buying stamps or other things from the P.O.—A person should not have to sign there debit card. I never sign any of them because of a problem with one of mine. I was told I could not use as a credit card. I use it everywhere and no one asks for a signature on my card. Thank You.

Albertville, Mn. postal service is awesome. always polite and ready to serve.I go there all the time. love to chat when they have time.
May 8th, 2008 at 10:16 am
I am appauled every time I go to the post office, it is terrible! You have to wait and wait! It kills me to see elderly people holding large heavy packages in a line that seems to never move. Can’t you have some seating available and make people take a number or something like at the DMV? I was in line today for over 30 minutes. Would you want your grandmother or mother on her feet with a heavy box standing still for over 30 minutes? It really annoys me!!!
May 8th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
On 5-8-2008 I was at the Washington Manor Station in San Leandro, Ca The clerk no 10 was very rude. She had the wrong city in Pa and when I showed it to her reply was can’t you make your 3’s better. She went and got the package and corrected the zip code and handed a new receipt and did not even say that she was sorry. This clerk is always rude. The man that is at that office is always pleasant. If she is so unhappy with her job Quit

Your questionnaire can not be completed. A message saying information not correct. I tried several times. The personnel at Fountain Hills office are
helpful and courteous when you finally get to see one. We definitely need more windows open or better still another office. Why does this office serve one district in Scottsdale?

June 12th, 2008 at 10:10 am
I mailed a package on May 30,2008 priority mail today is June 12,2008 the package has not been delivered yet. This was a gift for my daughter. It was mailed at the Hawthorne post office 0544850470-0095 I was told because the package was glass I could not insure it, now it seems as though my package is missing and I can’t do anything about. This is the third package to come up missing at this post office. When I call other p.o. they say it can be insured.

A very rood clerk #5 at our local post office. I ask for 41 cent stamps because I have some 1 cent stamps and she said throw them away. So I ask for a roll od 42 cent stamps and she said I just sold the man before you the same thing. WHICH i have no idea why that had to be said. For some reason the employees at the three different stations here seem to hate to wait on customers. If they hate it so bad, they should get another job. This clerk #5 has such a bad attitude that she could depress anyone, even when they were having a good day.

I recently sent a letter from my house that was very important and needed to get to its destination, I incorrectly placed the wrong amount of postage, MY mail carrier CHRIS caught my error and without question placed the correct postage so that my letter was mailed and received on time !! Thank you so much for truly caring about your customers..

I stood in line at this Coit/Hedcoxe Post Office today for 28 minutes, waiting for the ONE clerk to take care of me and another 23 people on the line there! You’d guess that on Tax payment day -at the very least- the recent postal rate increase could produce a near-decent sevice by the institution that has become BIG business and which provides a service that truly is the pits!
This was NOT an exception to the poor service found at this particular location.
Will any one from the Postal Service even look at our comments, and do SOMETHING about it???
June 17th, 2008 at 4:42 am
Love visiting my local post office located in Sun City Center 33573-8065….the staff is so very friendly and usually I find myself laughing along with other customers!!! What a treat to have such fabulous customer service!!! Not to put a damper on my opinion, but the wait time can be exasperating during snowbird season.
June 17th, 2008 at 7:18 am
I mailed a flat rate, priority mail parcel from 906809998 to 96816 from 92841 on 6/09/08 and it was not received until 6/16/08. This has been an on-going problem, whenever any parcel was mailed to Hawaii. However, when parcels were mailed from Hawaii, it was received in a timely manner in about 3 days. Moreover,I have not experienced any such problem when the parcel was sent from another local postoffice. The rates has increased exorbitantly but the service has not improved. Why?
June 17th, 2008 at 7:47 am
My trip to the Lakeview Station on 6/l6/08 was the same as all previous visits to send a package. There was an Half Hour wait in line with only one person available. There was another person who was helping an Asian send all her belongings back to her home country and she was there before I came and when I left, so she probably took an hour (at least)of the 2nd clerks time. Can’t those eating, gossiping, sleeping in the back rooms come out and help at the windows?
June 19th, 2008 at 10:17 am
My trip to the Mattydale Post Office was to send two packages. There was only one customer ahead of me, so I didnt have to wait long. Clerk:01 was very gracious as he usually is, and our transactions didn’t las very long. We have a wonderful station with excellent workers. God bless one and all!
June 19th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
MY RECENT TRIP TO THE SOUTH CLERMONT, FL. USPO WAS NOT A PLESANT ONE. AS STATED IN MANY OF THE OTHER COMMENTS, NOT ENOUGH HELP AND THEY WERE RUDE. THERE WAS APX 12 PEOPLE IN LINE AND ONE OF THE THREE WORKERS WENT TO LUNCH! WE WERE THERE TO BUY A COUPLE OF STAMPS AND HAD TO WAIT IN LINE 20 MIN. BECAUSE THEY GOT RID OF THEIR VENDING MACHINES.

In order for the Postal office to operate appropriately as a Business, I would like to suggest the following:
Postal Employees should to be trained to sell more stamps whenever possible and on every opportunity. E.g.: A customer hands over a $10.- bill for mailing out a package or for buying stamps for the amount of $8.17. Postal employee should instinctively ask the customer:”Would you like to have your $1.83 change in cash or in stamps?” OR “Would you like to have you change in forms of our newly issued Flag series stamps?”
If only 50% of all customers in the States say “Yes” and accept the sale offer, it would generate quite a bit of revenue $ for the Postal Office.
In the past the Postal Office used to give awards
for Good Suggestions. If this one qualifies,
please let me know.

Quail Roost postoffice in Perrine, Florida. Handicapped parking is across the traffic way on the far side of the parking lot. They should be moved to the front of the building where there are several non-handicap spaces. The way it is now shows a very poor way of management planning for disabled customers.
June 30th, 2008 at 7:39 am
I am very unhappy with the Post Office in Ponca City, OK. When there are only two or three customers in line and it takes 15 minutes to get waited on, something is wrong. This is not an isolated case, this happens every time I go to the PO. The clerks like to visit with their friends and they act like they could care less if they waite on you, but I should not be surprised, this is just typical government in action.

Westfield Station in Houston, Tx 770909998 is Always a Wonderful Funtime experience for us, especially with clerk #09 or Marilyn there. The service always fast, helpful with funtime conversation!! Fun to watch Marilyn’s speed on how she can do 5 customers compared to other clerks helping 1 customer, and still Marilyn is able to help with advise, efficientcy, and give Great Service. We Hope Marilyn Never leaves us.

Decatur MI 7-8-08, I tried to find my missing letter(money order)after 61 days second in charge, told me that the form to use was lost in the mail. I think its funny that the post office can use the phrase (a machine lost it) to make every thing O.K.. Its not ok im the one paying 200 hundred plus in late payments.,because two peices off simpal mail cant make it. I’ve lost all faith in the U.S. postal service. You will never see my money again over one hundred dollars a month. I like everyone else will be using the internet to do all my banking. Maybe the way people are are treated is reason that no one is using the post office any more. Very rude people to deal with at Decatur MI 49045. Never again-non postal user jocko klein

On Sunday July 6th I simply needed one stamp to mail one document. The local PO had its stamp machine removed. As I traveled to Atlanta, I stopped at 4 other PO along the route, none of which had a working stamp machine. There were signs in all of them saying machines were scheduled for removal. What gives?
July 11th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
The service is lousy. You have 2 mail clerks on and only one window is open. The other guy was doing stamp oders for customers that live outside of city. Every day is like Christmas rush. The line was out the door. I was there 40 mins just to mail a pkg. They no longer have a clock there-I guess so customers can’t see how long they waited. Then the clerk tries to sell you the most expensive way. We keep paying more and the service gets worse.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
I recently mailed package first class because postal employee said, it would be the same as priority and it would be on the same truck. Well my pkg. has still not arrived it was sent 6/25/08 today is 7/14/08. Ask the difference in first class & priority and he said none! Now I am left with no tracking number. Telling people about this all say never use first class it won’t get there!!! I don’t understand where my package is I had a return address on it!

This comment regarding the service I received at the Cloudcroft, NM office: The clerk had a terrible attitude and obiviously didn’t like his job. SO go out and get another, don’t subject me to the fact you hate your job.

sent a priority large flat rate box to Pocatello, Idaho on 7/8/2008 from Barron, WI 54812 and as of 7/23,2008 my son hasn’t received it. Where is it? I haven’t received it back yet either.
I have also found out any packages going there do not either get there or take up to 30 days.

Mailed a large envelope to Long Beach, N.Y.11561 on 8/02, until today 8/10 this has still not been received or returned to me. This is not a dependable service.
August 18th, 2008 at 11:12 am
Mailed a C.O.D. package out over a month ago, went by to check on why I haven’s received the C.O.D. funds and the postmaster gives the clerk the phone number to the post office in California,so i can spend my dime, excuse me quarter or quarters, to call and find out what has happen to it. Instead of him doing his job and finding out something they lost or didnt collect in the first place.
August 19th, 2008 at 6:18 am
Mailed three 9/12 envelopes on 8/11/08. Three to Ohio, which were deliverd on 8/13. The third was sent to Lombard, IL. This is th 19th but the envelope has not been delivered or returned. The USPS is no longer a reliable means of communicating. From now on I’ll go UPS.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:56 am
Priority mail is a rip off it took eight days for delivery .I could have sent it regular mail well I guess you lose another to UPS.

In March of ‘08 I and a friend went to the post office in O’fallon Mo to apply for a passcard. We have all the items required, paid the post office for it. One of the items required was our original birth certificates with the seal on it. We contacted the passport services about it and they wrote that they were returned to us by us mail in April. It is now August and we still have not received them.
Also in Dec. 2007 I mailed my Real Estate taxes in plenty of time for them to receive it, but by the end of January 2008 I realized my check had not been cashed I contacted the tax office, but they said they had never received it. That cost me another 74.00 late charge. Thanks to the US Postal Service.
Sorry folks but your service stinks! We pay through the nose for service that isn’t working. Color me gone.
August 26th, 2008 at 9:39 am

August 29th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
Service is terrible - have had so many lost letters that I can not count them. Many statements sent to my business never reach me, causing late fees and interest. Many bill payments mailed never reach the party mailed to.
my mail goes to another city with the correct address on it. If there was aother way to correspond, the U.S. Postal service would never ever by used my me again. Prices high - services super bad…
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:29 pm
A “mail hold” was mailed to the local post office for the month of july and august 2008. Arriving at mailbox on Sept 1, I found the mailbox jammed with magazines etc. First class mail had been returned to sender. Upon visiting the post office in question there was no mail held. Lack of supervision is the problem here.
September 11th, 2008 at 6:11 am
It’s unfortunate that supervisors at the post office get away with being rude, not dress professionally & wear too long nails that hinder them to perform their jobs

I just left the Vailsburgh Station Location in Newark, NJ. The clerk # 5 was beyond rude. First problem was there was only 1 teller working a Friday afternoon (payday). I asked for my money order & a stamp. I proceeded to go to the back desk to fill in my information. I then noticed out of 4 spots for pens no pens were available. I went back to clerk # 5 and asked for a pen. I said may I borrow a pen please. As I was walking away she screams out, “And make sure you bring my pen back”. I said I will bring your pen back. She then kept saying, “Yeah whatever just bring the pen back”. The supervisor had to come from the back & tell her to be quiet. I then told him that was Very unprofessional. I am a teacher around the corner & I will NEVER go back to that location again. Customer services training is needed for clerk #5.

service @ window was excellent and friendly. I told clerk #15 that i needed stamps and preferred small size & commemorative if possible.
he showed me threeor more and I chose two panels.
great service.

On 9/15/08 Clerk #08 at The Fairborn, Ohio PO on Hebble Avenue was rude and obnoxious when I requested a book of stamps. The elderly man showed poor customer service. Since it was such an ordeal for him to hand me my stamps when I gave him my money; I told him I would not mail my bills at that Post Office.

I had the ocassion to go to Gaithersburg Post Office; 208989992; on Sep. 17. Clerk no. 06 was rude, obnoxious and too lazy to hand me my change for .10. I had to ask him for it 3 times. His answer was, “you made me reach for the money for your letter to be mailed; now you can reach for the change.”
I called the supervisor of that post office to lodge my complaint. She never acknowledged receipt to the message, nor did a foolow up occur. Her name is Bernadette Aquil. I can see how the post office is losing money. Who wants to deal with such obnoxious personalities.

I mailed a package about 6 months ago and it was lost, they couldn’t do anything about it because I lost my reciept. Next I mailed a card and it didn’t get there. Sept. the 29 I mailed another package to Lawsonville, N.C. and it hasn’t gotten there yet so I go to the post office today, with my reciept and they said they could’nt do anything about it because I didn’t insure or regester it. It cost me 10.oo to mail and now its gone. I personally think the postal system stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chessa

I have 3 USPS offices in my area. I live in the middle of all 3. The post office for my zip code I frequent out of the 3.
At my post office for my zip code the postal clerks appear to be “Gang Like” overcharging in the way of putting in oversize package 1 measurements, not scanning in the delivery confirmation numbers and insurance numbers, hanging the postage bar code over the edge of the package so the machine can’t scan it, stomping on packages that are un-insured and blaming it on the machines and a lot of other things I can write a book about.
Today I mailed a package and the clerk turned his nose up at me and said I can’t service you. I asked him to get the manager and that didn’t happen.
Where’s the manager?
My post office is 89031-2374 in North Las Vegas. The clerks are horrible there. The other post offices in my area are rotten also with the clerks doing the same things and getting away with it.
I have been complaining about this for 5 years and still it goes on. “NO MANAGEMENT”!
October 10th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
As for post 246, it sounds like you a postal employee target like I am. Yes, postal workers target people at will because they know they can get away with it. I have talked to alot of people with the same problem and it’s aways the same, they are a target and management doesn’t do anything about it.
All the good postal employee’s are put in the back hussling packages and the rotten ones are put at the counter because they will and do overcharge and the post office makes millions of dollars off of the overcharges.
All the clerks are long time employee’s and do this stuff at will.

My comment about the usps is they suck! I was told allot of, or enough details by there employee at the point of shipping a parcel. It was an item i ended up getting scammed for through a fake paypal email. I was told and was under the understanding that my parcel required the receiving party to signe for it. Also that if needed i could intercept the parcel. Within up to around 8 days due to international delivery process taking so long, evan with there express mail service. As i tried to find out information and enforce the interception, all i really got was some USPS reps. that didn’t give a crap. With explanation to there lack of help/concern was due to the scam not being a mail scam. It was an internet scam. Yes ; i know where it originated, but it can’t be completed without the ever so friendly help provided from the more than nothing USPS employees. I evan mentioned to the employee i sent with that i could wait until monday. But that clearly according to him was not necessary. The package is insured for $1500. and i wonder what damn good that was that cost me $75.00 to do. Most all im gathering is a long runaround intended to encourage me to forget about the whole thing, or maybe wind up not complying with some date deadline for some of the filing . Whatever there case im here to share with everybody that the USPS for me sucks!

i needed to mail two birthday cards to u.k. so therefore i needed help at the counter. there were 12 customers in line. 30 minutes later i was served. in this period of time only one clerk was serving the other one went on break. i presume! when i left there were at least 15 people in line with still only one clerk serving. not a good way to run a business!!!!!!

I live in the 700 block of Caddo St, Marlow Ok 73055. My mail is rural route. The 600 block and the 800 block get delivered mail. The postmaster at Marlow told me that when my house was built it was a rural route and cannot be changed.
The 800 block was not here at the time. How did they get delivery.
I`m having a hard time understanding this.

In reviewing the comments 1-254, a majority of them seem to be about poor customer service at the Counter. The main reason suggested is the lack of Postal Clerks and not the service of the Clerks. This problem seems to be a nation wide one as evidenced from the blogs so is it any wonder that the Postal System is loosing money and customer base?I believe the U S Postal Service has lost it’s identity, as the word “Service” has been taken out of it’s vocabulary.
While the custoner slips ask’s for our opinion’s, the Postal Managers do not seem to get the message, ” the Customers want Service”
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:03 pm
I mailed a package which cost $4.80. I gave a $20. bill and received my change of $l5.20. After leaving the P.O. I looked at my receipt and it showed that I had given $85.00 as payment and my change was $80.20 which would have been correct if I had actually given that much. What is going on here? Is there some embezzlement or under-the-counter fraud taking place here? Why would my charge be ran up as such? Do you have a good answer for these questions?
October 24th, 2008 at 11:53 am
I recently sent 3 packages to Union City, San Leandro and Meza Arizona. Mailed at the PO on Warner HB. I was told it is to arrive 3 to 5 days. The pkgs for San Leandro and Arizona arrived but the Union City pkg never came. Several people said this had happened before. Do you think there is a thief who steals small pkgs in this area? Maybe one can get lost but two or three ? Should this be investigated? The mailboxes are suppose to be locked, how can mail get lost this way? The pkg was sent to 32224 Mercury Way Union City 94587 I have my receipt of the package. How can this be resolved? I hope someone will really take time and read this. Thank You and God Bless.

I visited SLC, Downtown station, and there were 4 employees, 1 working with a customer and the other 3 just standing talking and ignoring me. I stood there for about 3 mins thinking someone would turn around, one did but just acted like I wasn’t even there. I finally asked the clerk working with the customer if the other windows were open? He replied, yes, but just went back to working w/the customer. I said then in a loud voice hey are you open here and can I get some help. they continued to talk and then I hit the counter with my keys, how dare you, I am thinking what the HELL are these guys doing here getting paid with my money for higher stamps, SERVICE, etc. so is this how the post office treats you, now how much are these guys making standing around not wanting to work? I didn’t know we employed people to do nothing, but then again look at the country, that’s how we got where we are, no one working or doing their job except one person, I feel that Dale, Scotty, and Mike should be FIRED, hear me FIRED, I am sick and tired of people not doing the job, when so many people are unemployed and will do that job, like wait on customers coming to purchase EXPRESS mail for $16.50, that is what I was there for, so I was really pissed to see these (3) men not wanting to wait on me. I would like to have a comment or letter from postal service regarding this issue. this happened today 11-5-08, 09:49:16 AM clerk 12. My experience was the pits, only one person in there when I arrived and I stood there waiting for over a couple of minutes!!!!!!!!!! ANRGY CUSTOMER IN UTAH

I mailed 2 small boxes to Puerto Rico (USA) not a foreign country on Oct. 25, 2008 and today is Nov. 6, 2008 and no one has received their package. I also mailed a cushion envelope to PR besides being charged $1,69 for envelope that I provided there was an additional charge of $6.67?
This is how my sales receipt reads:
1- CAMUY PR 00627 Zone 8
Parcel Post 2-lb. 4.20oz $8.12
2- Cushion Mir 1 $1.69 10.5×16-RP Bayamon,PR 00956
Zone 8 1-lb. 5.30oz $6.67
3- Bayamon, PR 00956 Zone 8 3-lb.15.90 oz. $9.38( I paid a total of $25,86 and none of the Items mailed has been received??? Please explain to me why this is so!!!!
Another thing this web site where you are asked to go to enter postal zipcode, does not work…you should have a more accurate web-site…
I once was told that Puerto Rico is a “foreign Country” Maybe the Postal people should do a little more research and learn more about Puerto Rico (USA)

11/13/08 Shelton, WA clerk 03 Bill#1000400871579 When I entered I was #6 in line. There was one clerk (female) helping an elderly lady who was having considerable trouble deciding on what stamps to buy. Before she was done the line doubled. Clerk called for backup and a male #03 arrived to help first customer who had a package to pickup. He asked if anyone else needed pickup and two BEHIND ME came forward. He disappeared for 5 min., returned, and serviced the two he had called ahead of me. At minute 15, it was my turn so I tossed my overseas envelope and $1.00 on the counter. He asked if I wanted to mail it. I almost told him, “No, I want to eat it as I’ve gotten hungry while you put others ahead of me.”. It seems that every time I visit this PO I am treated to gross inefficiency and disregard for the need to take customers according to their arrival. Shape up!!!!!!!!!!

Anchorage Post Office on Rasberry - I noticed that the overall moral of the office was very down. The gals there are usually very upbeat and helpful. Today they were all bitchy.

Just wish all of the above who have had unsatisfactory service/results could come to the Oak View Post Office - 93022-9998 — in Ventura County, CA.
Staff is very helpful, waiting is not usually long. We are fortunate.

On Monday December 08 2008,I went to the John Buchanan Station In Chicago on South Chicago avenue at 16:50 hrs to mail items to a fellow Soldier who is serving in Iraq. It was almost closing time when I arrived and waited in line to be served. There were one female and one male Postal personnel on duty at the time. The female Postal person was servicing customers and the male Postal person was engaged in a loud conversation with A female customer about male versus female behavior, but was not doing any work at all, When I arrived at the front of the line I waited. After waiting for about ten minutes, I informed the male Postal person that I would like to ship a package since there was no business being transacted. The male Postal person glared and rudely stated “I’M TALKING TO HER AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT YOUR TURN LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE” then resumed his loud conversation. After about another minute I stated again, Sir,I would like to ship these items. The female customer then turned and left and I stepped up to the window, and the male Postal person again glared at me and asked me in a hostile tone, “WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?” I stated that I would like to ship the goods I have over seas. He then directed me to a stand containing small boxes to put the items in; knowing that there were no boxes there suitable for what I had in my possession. when I turned and approached his window , He once again glared at me, turned and left the window. The female Postal person then said to me “Sir, I will help you, come over here please”. She then produced a suitable box for the items and proceeded to place them in the box and seal it for shipping and gave me the proper form to fill out. In a matter of about two minutes my transaction was completed and I thanked her for her efficiency and professionalism and left. While out side I stood and watched for another minute or two and saw the male Postal person return to his window, but he did not do any work but instead sat there glaring at me standing outside and then made lewd eyes at the one other female customer waiting in line, all the while the female Postal person continued to service customers after closing; doing both her job and his.
FEMALE POSTAL WORKER:
COURTEOUS
EFFICIENT
PROFESSIONAL.
MALE POSTAL WORKER:
RUDE
DISRESPECTFUL
UNPROFESSIONAL.
Sincerely

I hate going to the Sylvania, Ohio post office. Although #7 is always friendly and polite, Clerk #5 is always rude. I was the next in line and when I approached her section, she told me she had something that had to be done and I would have to wait until she was done. I ended up going to #7 after going back in line. I am a public employee (teacher) and if I told a parent or student that there would be hell to pay. Postal rates have skyrocketed yet I am to be humiliated by another public employee?? There is always a line, there. Hire polite people who don’t act as if they have the weight of the world on their shoulders. I expect to a response to this complaint.

I would like to thank the Springfield, NJ Post Office for their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. They do an outstanding professional job. Thank you for them.

I had the opportunity to mail some packages at the Santa Rosa MPO @954029998 on 12/06/08 @s:40 pm. This is a very busy time of the year for them, and I want to commend them on their excellent and pleasant service. Every clerk station was in use, and though the line was out the door upon my arrival, I spent less than 15 minutes in line. The Postmaster of that post office is really on the ball!
Thank you!

This past Saturday, 12/13/08, at 10:00 a.m. I went to the El Cerrito Main Post Office @945302163 to mail some packages. There were only two postal clerks on duty at 4 stations, and the line was out the door. It took a half hour to make it to the clerk. She was very pleasant and efficient, as she usually is. Why, at the busiest time of the year, would any post office only have two out of the four clerk stations filled on a Saturday?
December 16th, 2008 at 4:53 am
I mailed a small package on 12/09/2008 to Downey, California by PRIORITY Mail and another much bigger package to Dublin, CA by first class mail on 12/10/2008.
The first class mail was delivered on 12/12/2008 but the priority mail was delivered only yesterday, 12/15/2008 or 6 days after ! What is going on ?
People will just be discouraged to spend more money on priority mail than first class.
I talked to Postmaster Billy Jack in Middlesboro, KY where I mailed my packages and although he was very helpful, he said he could not refund my money because there was nothing he could do about it.
December 19th, 2008 at 8:35 am
I mailed 2 pkgs on Dec 15, 2008 from Phoenix, 85021 to New York 10549, and was told if I sent it Priorty Mail it would get there in 2 - 3 days otherwise it would take over a week. So I paid $9 more to go Priority and to this date 12/19 it is not there. I was told when I called in that Priority means 5 or more days, I could of sent this regular mail for $9 less and the pkgs would of gotten there just as soon. This is WRONG, just to get extra money for no better service. I hate this scam.

USPS - To whom it may concern
I would like to commend a USPS employee located at Montgomery Village Branch, Gaithersburg, Md. 20879-9998. Namely Mrs. Won Cho. I am somewhat unaccustomed to using the USPS services, and during the month of December 2008 I had ocassion to use the service several times. Luckily. Mrs. Won Cho waited on me each time. She gave thorough options and guidance on the most favorable way to ship my parcels (even buy postage), how to track deliveries, how to use the web site, etc. She was most accommodating and extremely pleasant to deal with. I am truly appreciative of her efforts on my behalf and her thorough knowledge of postal procedures. The USPS is truly lucky to have such an employee as Mrs. Won Cho.
Thank you for this opportunity to express my sentiments.

Purchased stamps before Christmas at North Palm Beach Post Office 334084605. Asked for ( in addition to other items ) 100 stamps,42 cent denomination in coil. Was charged and given two wrapped coils. When I started using them, I found they were only 27cent stamps. I returned one unopened, tightly wrapped coil to exchange for a 42 cent coil. Was told by Mary Ann, the manager, that it is “policy” to never accept returned stamps–even tho it was THEIR mistake and they were in original wrapper. This “policy” should be moderated!

We mailed five bills 12-4-08 (car insurance, mortgage payment, credit card payment, etc) this mail never reached its destination. This has caused us a great deal of trouble and worry. How does mail just get lost for over a month???

I sent a very small package from brandon florida
to laporte texas, it was mailed on dec. 12 08. I paid extra to send it by priority mail and was told that it should get there by monday 12-22-08
it was finally delivered on 1-05-09. It was ridiclous to spend the extra money when it would have probably got there sooner by sending it
regular mail.

Being handicapped, I truly appreciate the fact that I can order stamps by filling out a “stamps by mai”. Our local PO has approximately 20 steps to get to the first floor for service. Yes, there is a ramp at the rear of the PO but parking is seldom available. We definitely need a branch on one floor and across town from the main PO. If I have mail that has to be weighed I drive to Alpha, OH or Beavercreek-one floor facilities.

Help me make sense of this situation….I wanted
to mail a rather thick standard business envelope…it was too thick to pass through the
slot…it cost me $1.17. I Should have addressed
2 envelopes @ 42 cents each, or 84 cents…make
2 pieces of mail to be processed in stead of one!
HELP ME UNDERSTAND THE LOGIC HERE!
Or…..the logic that it takes 4 days for a weekly publication to be mailed 100 miles! I complain to the publisher who says they put the
newspaper in the mail the afternoon it is printed. This happens with 2 of my weeklies.
February 5th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
At the PO on Sepulveda, at 9:00 AM there was a line out the door on a weekday. Business day, yes? Well, it was staffed by one clerk. When I walked in there was no one at her station. I asked if maybe she wasn’t open yet and she replied she was open, but the customer had left the building to get something, as we all waited for his return. The other customers thanked me for asking because they thought she had not opened yet as I did but were afraid to ask.
My complaint is, how can the PO people underman a main office until 10:45AM on business weekday
or any day? Perhaps, you should consider cancelling delivery on Saturday. PS my wait that day was 25min.

The post office in my area discontinued drawing a number to be called.
Now people STAND in line holding big packages –some for over 15min.
Two large benches go unused and elderly customers become irritated with this system. I do not understand the reasoning behind this change.

On 2/12/09 I went to the North Knoxville Branch Post Office to buy some forever stamps. I suspect the postage will go up very soon. The line was very long so I picked up the information & form to order the stamps from home.MISTAKE!!!!! I circled the indicater marked FOREVER STAMPS and enclosed a check for 3 books(60 stamps). Imagine my surprise when a week later (2/19/09) I received 60 42cent HEART STAMPSin the mail. That defeated the whole purpose. My phone number was on my order. I guess calling me was out of the question. I could have waited for the forever stamps easier than I will be able to use 60 stamps before the price increase. That’s o.k. that is the last cent the postal Service ( boy that’s a loose use of the term “service”) will get from me. Maybe I could take my heart stamps and sell them in their parking lot.

I sent an emplyee to post office with a credit card and a properly filled out orange envelope to get postage. there is a column “QTY” newxct to the column “cost”. Now I had written .01 in the “items” column and when I was filling out amounts that I needed, I wrote “0″ as the qty for $.01 stamps. How hard is that to figure out?? I know that postal workers need to pass a test in order to be employed byt the postal service however, I don’t think reading or math skills are included

The exact same package was sent twice and to compare receipts the size was wrong and the weight. Plus the Millersville PA postmaster was rude to the point of accusing me of not being truthful, until he checked & found I was definitely ‘truthful’. The next mailing was of course in their favor. He said the first girl did it wrong! So we had to pay the extra money. Gee, she measured it wrong & weighed it wrong???? The exact same package was 5 lbs. heavier!!!!!! come on

I recently filled out a yellow “hold mail” card and when I returned to pick up my mail, no one could find the yellow card and my mail was left in my mailbox every day I was away. This is excusable. I could have lost some important mail, and don’t know that I didn’t.
Thanks for listening. Nancy Lockamy

I just wish the post office I go to was opened on a Saturday. That only happens during the Christmas rush. Otherwise the people were really very friendly and answered all my questions

I asked the Postal Clerk to for a tape to seal the top flaps of a small corrogated box. Her comment(Wanda):”next time bring your own tape” . I normally use FdEx or UPS and do use USPS too. I was take back by her comment. Was anyone ever been told to bring your own tape anywhere in the USA by a Postal Clerk or any Package mailing service? Or is it a new Post Office policy?

Mail sent from the Library of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, on March 27, 2009, arrived at my address in Winchester, Virginia, on April 20, 2009. Such a delay of 24 days enroute is totally inexcusable and unacceptible. It is this treatment by USPS that leads us to increase usage of online mail.

Tax week I sent two tax returns over night. On was to my daughter (EH414605100US). It was taken to the Lemont PA office. I paid 17.50 for an over night. I was told it would arrive by noon on Tuesday. It did not arrive. In checking on it they tried to deliver to a law office after they closed. I called the next morning 4/15. I was told they would try to get it delivered that day. I said it was to be delivered by Tuesday noon (that is on my slip). They did then get it delivered by noon on Wed. 4/15. For all this hassle and stress I paid 17.50 for a service that didn’t happen.
My next problem was I mailed an overnight tax return to Columbia SC.(EH 782063383) Our client said to send it to his house. This was mailed on Tuesday 4/14 and was to arrive by 3:00 on 4/15. Mr Strailey went to the Post office to check and besure it wouldn’t be put in his box instead. He was told no it would go to the address on the package. Some one in the postal service rerouted the package to a post office box # and the post office closed at 2:00. He went to a larger post office and someone there, after several hours was able to get someone to get the package from the post office box and give it to Mr Strailey. This happened about 5:15. Post office closed thus couldn’t mail the package to the IRS. It the post office could not deliver this package in the first place I should have been told. Thus again I didn’t get what I had paid for. I am requesting some compensation for this 17.50. More stress. Thus we will not ever try this again. We will always use Fedex. I am requesting a fast response in these situations. thanks Elizabeth C. Asendorf

paid for priority mail so that i could track it. package has not arrived after 3 days so i tried to track and all i can get is that it left it’s destination. What did i pay for?Called the post office in Port Gibson,MS. where package was sent from and was told that the package would be scanned when it gets to it’s destination. If that is the case then what good is a tracking number? Am i missing something here?

Knowing that I would be on vacation during the entire month that my post office box rent was due, I asked if I could pay it in advance and was told that early payment could not be accepted, but that my mail would be held for me anyway. When I returned five weeks later to pick up my mail and pay my box rent, I found my box empty and was told that all my first class mail had been returned to sender. In addition, my box was closed out for non-payment of rent. This all happened in spite of my best efforts to avoid it. I am now faced with the task of calling my credit card companies to get new bills sent out, contacting the town hall to track down my real estate tax bill, and whatever medical information that had been mailed to me and my wife. It is inconcievable to me that the post office cannot accept advance payment of box rent when you know you are going to be away on the due date. The least they could do was hold the mail. This is definitely not a user friendly operation and I suspect it is not in compliance with official USPS policy.

I use a flat rate usps envelope for mailing items each month. My cost $4.95. The addressee mails like type items to me using usps flat rate envelope but he pays $9.05. WHY???
I mail my itmes from zip 64012, Belton MO
The addressee mails the items from zip 24219, Big Stone Gap VA.
Does the USPS have different rates for each postoffice?

RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL TELLER AT COVINGTON MAIN, PO, COVINGTON, GA, CLERK #2.
June 10th, 2009 at 6:27 am
I visited University Park Station in Denver, CO yesterday afternoon to mail a letter by certified mail with returned signature. Clerk #04 excused herself for a few moments to replentish her supply of forms. When I commented on her calendar featuring a diffenet puppy each month she flashed a smile that lit up the whole station. As she worked she enggaed me in antimated conversation and at the same time had our business completed fasted than I wanted.
What started as a mundane visit to the Post Office turned into one of the best moments of my day.
The best plesures of life are those that are completely unexpected.

On May 12, 2009 about 8:30 am, I mail a letter from the Wilkes-Barre Post Office, 300 South Main St. drive thru collection box in a 4×9 envelope to:
Mrs. Doris Sears
850 Columbus Ave Apt 9-G
New York, New York 10025
The letter contained a 3 page letter “God’s Pharmacy” and 5 (five) very old pictures from my christening 55 years ago. There was 1 color photo and 4 black & white photos. When I mentioned to my Godmother that I had them she asked me to send them to her. The one picture I long for the most is of my mother who is deceased, the only picture I have of my mother and me.
I would have never thought they would get lost and to date 6/12/09 she has not received them. I am so upset over this. I have written letters to the dead mail Recovery Centers as well as my local PO and hers.
I am only going to pray that they be found and either return them to me or forward to her.

sir/madam:
we have not received mail which should have been forwarded from our Austin address to our Colorado Springs address. NOT ONE PIECE!
On May 3, I used the P O web site to inform the P O to forward our mail beginning May 8; always before we used the yellow cards, which always worked.
The mail we have not received includes bills and books, as well as regular mail (one piece in particular we know has not been returned to the sender).
We’ve communicated by phone with both P Os various times, eventually with the respective carriers.
The Austin carrier said today June 17, that he has all our mail, and that every time he forwards it to us, it is returned to him!
This morning we received this advice—from our Colo Spgs carrier—to overcome this baffling-to-all-problem:
HAVE THE AUSTIN CARRIER PUT OUR MAIL IN ANY BOX THE SIZE NEEDED TO HOLD IT, THEN SEND IT TO OUR COLO SPGS CARRIER:

We sent a package priority mail. We were told the package would be there on Monday by 3 PM. It wasn’t. Now we can’t even track where it is. I was told that US mail was better than Fed Ex. I’m beginning to wonder.
