USPS Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire Website Launched
From PostalReporter.com reader:
The website link http://gx.gallup.com/pos [link corrected] started appearing at the bottom of customer sales receipt on Saturday. USPS requests customers to “Tell us about your recent postal experience.” All you need is a zip plus 4 of the post office visited (located at the top of the sales receipt) to start the questionnaire.
According to the website operated by the Gallup Organization: “Your questionnaire responses are important to help us improve postal service in your area. This questionnaire should be completed by the person who recently made a purchase at a local post office. Your responses will be kept strictly confidential.” One of the questions asked is “How would you rate your visit to the __________Post Office?”
Below is a copy of a customer sales receipt

your link to the survey is wrong, but the survey us up and running at the correct link. Maybe this will get rid of the mystery shopper program.

A recent visit to the NEW post office in Meriden, Ct revealed the money spent for the new facility was wasted. It has not cut the wait time for service at all. Still only 2 workers at the window which was reduced to one while I waited in a short line for a long time.
The postal worker was couteous and helpful but I had hoped not to spend my morning in line at the NEW facility. I will have to avoid this facility and gain time by going to another town’s post office.

I sent a box parcel post 24 pounds to my daughter 200 miles away- it’s now day number four (sent out on the 7th, this is the 11th)and she still hasn’t gotten it -ditto the same for a package sent the same time to son in Lawrence Kansas- same distance- your rates are higher- your service isn’t- I could have strapped them to a skateboard and gotted both packages there in four days. Believe me, if there were any other way of sending out packages in this one horse town we ALL would- your service stinks
June 12th, 2007 at 4:39 am
I entered the Zip + 4 and got an invalid message. Is your site really up and running?

The zip code on my reciept is not right. How can I change it?

I love getting mail, and the service I received at the Rutherford branch is always polite and courteous. I mailed a birthday present to my nephew and I’m keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping it gets there quickly and in one piece.

Very happy with the whole trip to the post office in Rice Lake, parked for free right on street in front of building, the clerk was very helpful, I was getting the extra postage I needed for $.31 stamps I was using and bought two books of new stamps, whole visit took less than five (5) minutes.
June 15th, 2007 at 6:32 am
I can’t believe the rates you charge. I will
use the UPS service from now on. You raised the
rates and decreased the service. Soon the US
postal service will no longer be needed.
ps Was unable to enter the zip plus 4 as
requested. 453853216

Went to mail wedding invitations and found out there is not a .58 stamp. Had to put 2 stamps - a ram’s head and flag on the wedding invitations. The new LOVE stamp does not come out until end of June. With all the weddings across the US during the summer months you would have at least thought the USPO would have a nice looking .58 stamp, but no - only a ram’s head and flag. Give me a break! Some moran in USPO wasn’t thinking ahead! The LOVE Stamp won’t be able good unless your wedding is in Sept or later.

I have stopped using the four digit number that comes after the zip code because I printed the number that was given to me and my mail was returned. I had the correct address, and four digit zip code, but they could not be bothered to deliver my letter, but returned it to me. Hence it is safer not to use the four digits if one does not want the mail to be returned.

How can we get to the gx.gallup.com/pos site?
We have the best service of any post office in the area. Getting rid of that ditzy postmaster was a blessing. Now bring in a good worker and customer friendly postmaster and things can continue to be top notch. As long as Fort Walton Beach continues to provide such poor service I will continue to go to Mary Esther.

Dominion Station
Bristol, VA

I visit this post office 5 times a week. There is only one teller. Only one. She handles all the duties. I stand in line FOREVER waiting for her to finish with the people in front of me just to sign for a registered letter or to buy postage.
This is highly unfair to your employee who has to bear the brunt of rude customers who are fed up waiting in line. It is unfair to your customers who wait in line. My time is valuable as my boss is not paying me to stand in line but to be in the office working.
You need to hire someone else for the front desk. You are being most unfair to your employees and your customers. Other post offices I have been to have more than one clerk and they ususally aren’t as busy as this station is.
Please put someone else up front, full time, now.
Thank you.

MY COMPANY RECENTLY SENT OUT A MAILING WHICH INCLUDED A PEN WITH A TOTAL WEIGHT OF 0.9 OUNCE.
THE MAILINGS WERE EITHER RETURNED OR SENT TO OUR
CUSTOMERS WITH POSTAGE DUE. UPON RETURNING TO THE POST OFFICE, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS A WIDTH RESTRICTION WHICH WENT INTO EFFECT AT THE TIME OF THE POSTAGE INCREASE. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE POST OFFICE HAD SOMETHING TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF ALL THE CHANGES. THE POST OFFICE HAD A TEMPLATE BUT HAD NOTHING THAT I COULD TAKE BACK TO MY OFFICE. THE POSTAL EMPLOYEE SAID THAT PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THE POSTAL INCREASES BUT HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE OTHER RESTRICTIONS WHICH WERE ALSO PUT INTO EFFECT. SO. OUR MAILING WHICH SHOULD HAVE HELPED OUR BUSINESS ONLY MADE THINGS WORST !!!!

Visits to local post office are becoming comparable to the local license bureau. Lines are long because of the shortage of clerks. While I was there for 20 minutes there were never more than two clerks open for business. When one came from a break, another left. I saw 4 clerks, but by the time I was serviced the two who were there when I arrived were “on break.” The previous time it was the same deal, but then I was sending a package to Texas that the clerk assured me would arrive in 5 or 6 days. It actually was delivered 28 days later. That seems to me to be the sign of a business that is killing its customer base.

I MAILED A FLAT RATE PRIORITY MAIL ENVELOPE TO SIMINOLE, OK. ON JUNE 19TH. AND IT HAS NOT ARRIVE AS OF TODAY JUNE 28TH. IT USUALLY GETS THERE IN 3 OR 4 DAYS AT THE MOST. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN I DO TO FIND IT? IT IS VERY IMPORTANT MAIL THAT MY SON NEEDS. HIS JOB IS THERE AT THIS TIME AND I WILL NEED TO SEND HIS MAIL AGAIN.

I live in southbury connecticut and am a transsexual woman in transition [ MTF] straing her own e-bay business. and so, I use the services of our local USPS, the southbury P.O. 06488 zip code quite a big lately. I have to be the one person whom has to be the best example of diversity here in the fairly conservative and set in its ways town of SOUTHBURY , CT. USA ;the one whom turns all the heads in disbelief with many of its local residents when she walks in with her denim skirt and camisole top on! BUT, I FEEL THAT EVERY TIME I GO TO OUR LOCAL SOUTHBURY POST OFFICE ; I AM TREATED WITH THE VERY SAME RESPECT DUE OF ALL ITS FEMALE CUSTOMERS! the guys and girls working there all have come to know me and for that reason alone; I take all of my shipping business to them! I wish that I could say the same for our local UPS shipping outlet, business and shipping center of southbury; where the owner hints by his non verbal actions that I am perhaps “the worst queer plague to ever invade the peaceful hamlet of southbury, CT; but truthfully, I CAN NOT. HEY USPS 06488! YOU WIN! THUMBS UP 100%!

The website indicated on my receipt did not come up, but after a bit of searching this page came up. On May 22nd I mailed 100 notes to persons who may be interested in a San Diego State University support effort called “Friends of the Classics.” On July 7th, seven weeks later, one was returned as “not deliverable” from an address not more than ten miles away. The address was confirmed as correctly entered according to the latest information available from the SDSU Retirement Organization, but apparently the addressee — a former President of that institution — has moved without leaving a forwarding address, but where on earth was the letter for seven weeks? Earlier a copy of the same letter was returned in a torn and taped condition over four weeks after it had been sent to a famous writer in Florida at a verified address (a new copy has reached her and been acknowledged) correct in every respect except for a typo in the zip, entered as 32217-5202 instead of 32216-5202. Surely someone at the local distribution center could have taken the few moments necessary to compare the address with local records. Is it any wonder why e-mail is becoming so popular?

On June 28, I was in the Pittsford Post Office, there were two people waiting on customers and in the background was the boss with a clip board taking notes. Since there was a line of people waiting he did not step up to help the customers. It gave me a very bad impression that he didn’t care about the service and was only interested in his paperwork.

I was in the Hudson Oh, post office today mailing a package to my daughter in Lexington, Ky. Mark waited on me and he was so helpful. He not only got a priority box and put the items inside I was mailing, he also sealed the box and gave me several extra boxes to take home for future mailings. I have been a retail manager for 14 years and I really appreciate it when I receive such wonderful customer service. Mark made my day, too bad there are not more people like him. Keep up the great work. This is one of the reasons I love living in Hudson Oh. Sincerely, Karla Wray

My visit today at the Marlborough, CT Post Office is as it usually is…pleasant, enjoyable and serviced by friendly people. Thank you, Marlborough USPS!

The Post Office is ripping its customers off!! Its rates are constanly going up and the quality of customer service is steadly dropping. On July 5, 2007 I mailed a flat rate priority envelope (which I paid $4.60 and advertised as 2-3 days for delivery) to my daughter in Smyrna, GA from the Westchester, CA 90045 station (bill #1000702637579; clerk #17). My daughter is a single Mom and the envelope contained a cashier’s check to help her with the children for the summer. Today is July 12, 2007 and the Priority Mail (what a joke) has still not arrived in Georgia. I contacted the Smyrna, GA and Westchester stations for assistance. The person at Westchester Station told me that “each station is mandated to mail out all mail received that day; usually the mail will show up however there could be a delay; also he couldn’t help me if I didn’t have a tracking number!!!!!” I asked what kind of delay and he said “like it could be caught in a machine!!!” I told him what CONSOLIATION!!! In the meantime I have contacted the bank that the check was issued from and was informed that their system shows the check outstanding. So I am inconvenience re: stop payment process which takes up to 90days. I should have followed my first mind a mailed the item through FedEX or UPS for about the same amount of money. I see why the Post Office which was once a very dependable and reliable service is going broke and customers are using more on-line services or alternative mailing systems. Because I certain will!!!
July 12th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
I had my mail on hold and when I picked it up at the designated counter,I waited in line 25min.. Only 1 person was there and it took him forever to find a registered letter, mail on hold etc..What is wrong with their system?? FIND A BETTER WAY!

I visit the Post Office 320559998 about three or four times a week to mail media mail. I have been doing this for over three years and have gotten to know all the front people.
I have never had to wait over 15 minutes even if there is a long line. The Post Office is a very
valuable partner in my business of online selling.

Paterson’s office is the worst, the line is always out the door and their are only 2 or 3 tellers their at all times. Their are over 8 windows in that office, their’s never any parking and we have to pay a meater that only allow’s 15 min. then a cop walk’s around and give’s out ticket’s. That’s not fair when the line is always long no matter what time of day it is. I need to go to the post office atleast 4 times a month. “Hire some more teller’s”

Mailed first class envelope to zip 29576 on July 2,07 it finally arrived on July 16, 07 TWO WEEKS for a first class envelope!! (75 cent postage) remailed on July 13, 07 (another 75 cent postage!
Such GOOD service for the price.
Plus standing in line both times equals about 45 min. of time not to mention gas for both trips.
Fed-Ex cheaper and more reliable.

I requested printed information for restrictions/changes in mailing to South Africa and was informed that none were available. The rates have been raised and the service is poorer. What happened to surface mail going overseas. My daughter and four grandchilden are missionaries in South Africa and I have mail M-bag surface mail for many years. These bags may have taken 6 months to arrive but it let the children know thier grandmother was thinking about them. The NEW? IMPROVED? post office has ROBBED me of the joy of giving to my children ! I believed myself as a cheerful giver.
Where can printed information be available on new regulations to mail overseas?

I recently went to the post office in Framingham,MA Bill#100070050886, clerk 20. I wanted to know how much a large envelope would cost to mail. The clerk put my envelope on the scale and told me .80. I needed to mail a number of these envelopes. When I asked for 100 stamps he told me that he had only 70. These I purchased. When I got back to the office I had 60. A number of envelopes were sent out with the .80 stamps. These all came back for additional postage due. The rate should have been .97.I am very unhappy with all of these issues. One being short and over charged . Then the rate was wrong.

I recently went to the post office in Orlando, FL Bill#1000803337103, clerk 19 to send off a letter size document Priority Mail on the 10th of July 2007. TODAY, is 19 July 2007. I knew I should’ve sent it with a confirmation #, unfortunately, I didn’t. Now, my documentation is lost through the mail system. The only response I’ve received to try to get some assistance with this-was call back in another week and “they’ll try to assist” me then. I don’t know about other “working folks”, but when you rely on the mailing system and pay an extra Three dollars and change for your documentation(s) to get where it needs to be in a timely manner, it really upsets me to go through a lot of unnecessary aggravation in order to keep a good standing name with other businesses. Just want to say “THANK YOU for NOTHING” to the Orlando Main Post Office, FL 32862! You really know how to help a Service Member out.

I have tried your STRATFORD CONNECTICUT post office a total of three times on days where my work has been close to that location. On all three times the line has been out the door (twice at 2:30 in the afternoon and once at 4pm) with the number of people in line averaging 30. While the mail from that location seems to get to its destination faster than from my hometown post office spending a half hour to forty five minutes in line is not worth saving an extra five to ten minutes in driving time to go to the nearest UPS mailing center. Will start going there instead-that should relieve your surly employees from being overwhelmed by the volume of mail and packages that they process.

respect when surving other people in the usvi.st.thomas.They all so need to have better hygiene.I all so think that the employees need

I mailed a package to Ohio returning a power steering pump for a tractor on July 16, 2007. It was sent 2 day priority mail. Today is July 24, and package has not been recieved in Ohio yet. This was from the Georgetown, KY post office. That was my first experience using the USPS and it will be my last. There are many other competitors out there who do deliver on time and do not lose your packages. I have used them before and I will use them again. I feel the USPS is lacking in many ways.

I have an outstanding mail carrier. Yesterday I went to the post office and asked the very pleasant clerk who I could tell how I felt. She suggested the address on the bottom of my receipt.
I went to the address and answered the questionaire concerning the post office but found no place to let you know that your carrier 825 from 447089998 is outstanding and appreciated.

I waited 25 minutes in line with 18 other people. There were 2 clerks, altho one was tied up the whole time with one person. A manager of a local restaurant. Very frustrating. Arlington Hts. Illinois 60004 The employees moved like turtles. One employee was taking care of passports only. These people were also frustrated and could not believe the lengthy wait.

I was very upset this morning to find out that I cannot send parcels overseas anymore by economy mail. If the only way to go is by airmail, it will make it so expensive that some people will not be able to afford to send gifts to their families.
I hope you will reconsider the decision to stop economy mail overseas and bring it back.

Per long-standing practice, my local PO has selected their dumbest & slowest employees available to clog up the service counters (2 out of 4 in service) with NO Postmaster in sight to take complainst. Many customers simply gave up and left, in disgust, after being in a long, stationary line for what seemed like an eternity. Typical USPS operation = raise rates and drop services. And NOBODY in Congress seems to give a damn.

I visited the Reno/Stead on 8/1/07 at 11::am and there was 2 clerks and 10 people in line and to my amazement one of the clerks left and one person was left to help us. Plus several people kept coming in and still only one person. She informed me that she was just there to help out and couldn;t believe her self that the other clerk had closed up and left her. This is no way to run a business even for our government.

I have endured 30+ years of fedgov. mail “service”.
Just like insurance, whenever prices are increased, fedgov. mail “service” is often simultaneously decreased.
When domestic mail takes twice as long, or longer, than international mail, something is rotten!
Fedgov. mail is not accountable to anyone and takes no responsibilty for it`s goof-ups!
All local post offices I have ever dealt with claimed perfection, that they make no mistakes! Whatever goes wrong - delayed, damaged or lost mail - is blamed on the customer or “that other post office” [usually the destination post office]!
Priority Mail is rarely delivered in two business days, or even in three, although fedgov. mail always charges for that speedy Priority Mail delivery! Five to seven business days days is common! Ten days are frequent for certain destination states!
Whenever packages are damaged, customers are said to have caused it by being lousy packers!
I have NEVER been able to get a refund!
And there is no recourse whatsoever!
I am only a peon without wealth and power and political clout, therefore I am not being treated with respect and fairness!!!
August 6th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
My P.O. Box was closed for no reason! It’s been two weeks and I’m still trying to get it resolved. Am so stressed-out! It appears to be an error by a postal worker. Postal workers do not have access to the new computer system to fix the error. A post-card must be sent-up to another main post office. It probably got lost in the mail! Take my advice, don’t call the 800-275-8777 number for help. You’ll be wasting your time! Another example of how our government throws-away our federal money!

in four days. It’s eight days, and Has not arrived as of this moment. I am paying for poor
service, and hoping it will be delivered soon.

I came in to get stamps and the sale clerk never asked if she could help me or anything. She was talking to her co-worker the hole time. I told her I wanted a book of stamps and gave her the money. I didn’t get a thank you ,have a good day, not even a good by. The clerk just kept talking to her co-worker. Where is the good old customer service? I work with the public and I do let them know I am glad to help them in any way I can. This clerk needs to learn it doesn’t take much to atlease speak to your customer and ask if they can help you and a nice good by.

I think if you have three register in the post office you need to have them open instead of just and make people stand in line for long peroids of time people do not want to stand andwait a long time to get there stamps or what ever else they need i can not stand long peorids of time due to back injury but ever time i go to the post office i have to please do something about this

On 8-13-07 I went to the post office in Bountiful,UT 84010 to buy some stamps. There was only one employee at the counter and 19 people in line for service. It took me 20 minutes in line to get my stamps. When the post office was first opened there was a store section for stamps, boxes, etc. An employee was there to help. This service vanished a long time ago. With the price of stamps it seems like they could hire additional employees. Service now is very poor. Why??????

I mailed a package to my grandaughter back in June, to a Dallas TX address. About a week later, I got a call from the HAZMAT division in San Antonio TX asking what sort of hazardous material I was mailing. I explained that it was her birthday and I had sent her 2 t-shirts and some jewelry. They said something toxic was leaking from my package and wanted to know if it was safe to open it. I even got a call from the local TV station asking me what I had mailed that was hazardous. They had picked up an
AP article about something hazardous being mailed from Madisonville TN!! Later the HAZMAT people called back and said the leak was from another package that was on top on mine. Needless to say, my grandaughter never got her birthday present. I went to my local post office in Madisonville (37354) and asked for a refund of the $6.20 Priority Mail fee (I had the receipt). I was told they were not authorized to refund my money, but I never found out who to call to ask for a refund, as they did not know.
I’m glad they were on the ball, but I still think I deserve a refund.

It is Aug 18th and box still not here. Cal;led elgin post office inquiring about 16×16x16 54 lb box and they were quite rude and said will be here when it here. $33.58 later, no clothes for new job and trip on business, no sentimental items for new desk and money just down the drain. I visited the North Andover Office 01845
and was never so embarrased be a worker there.
Our box was locked due to a notice error, and
not the person that was waiting on me but another
decided to put her two cents in,and everyone that was in line knew what was going on. We the retirement system at work have a box there and I was sent for the first time to pick up the mail, well evedently we had not received a bill and the box was locked. she made it known to everyone in line the problem. I think that was so unnecessary to say the least. After all i wouldn’t walk in to the Post Office and start cursing because of an error I found..I do think that was in very very bad taste on her part”"”"”

Dear Sirs, my compliant is regarding denial of service.I am a disabled senior citizen who cannot stand in line for a long period of time. I talked to the supv, a redheaded female who would not serve me or place me at the head of the line,as customary for disabled people. She told me to wait in line as usual. There were approx.25 people in line, some with boxes.this was the first time I have been refused serve as a disabled person.

Around March 8, 2007 I mailed three separate Priority boxes to my son in Charlotte, N.C. To date (9/14/2007) Ben has never received them. They were his birthday gift valued at $250.00. I had made Internet copies of some 60 Pop Music Groups and put them in a binder. Nothing. I wrote the Postmaster General I called the Post Office in Charlotte (28213) Nothing. My son went to the Post Office. Nothing. I wrote to the Dead Letter Center in Atlanta. Nothing. There’s absolutely no excuse for three separate parcels to “get lost.” None. I am out $250.00.. but more importantly my son doesn’t have my 3 days work. This USPS stinks if you ask me. Some employees have “terrible attitudes” and it shows.I have been a proponent of the Post Office for more than 50 years. This experience takes the cake only to be eclipsed by receiving 5 letters returned to me 14 months later “Return To Sender!” Unions protect postal workers but the unions don “groom” professionals. It’s terrible today… seeing you asked me! “No Thanks, U>S>P>S> You stink!

Dear Sir,
This letter is to suggest the Arnold, MD post office (21012) to please return the trash receptacles to the office. I have been a customer there for 25 years and it has always appeared clean and orderly. Recently the “powers that be” made a decision to eliminate the trash cans because someone threw nonpostal trash in them. I also believe that they were too lazy to throw the junk mail away that was deposited in them. Anyway, there is absolutely no place to throw post office refuse (the back of stamps etc.) so people are leaving them on the floor and tables creating a mess. It would be very nice to see the receptacles returned. The Annapolis (21401) and the Severna Park (21146) Post Offices have not eliminated them and their offices look much nicer. A respose would be appreciated.

On Monday Spt. 24th I went into the post office to mail a t-shirt to my son at school. I used the machine to weigh it and it printed out the stamp for me. Well, Tuesday it was in my mail box because it needed .33 more postage. I went to the post office to re-mail it and they said that I should have known it was a parcel not an envelope. Excuse me but I believe the picture of a manilla envelope was right there. The machine weighed it and printed the stamp. The old lady behind the counter said that I needed to read the postal book because all postal clerks knew that it was a parcel. I guess we should be psychic now. She told me this as she was talking into her bluetooth in her ear and smacking away on her gum. By the way, this was the second time I had shipped a t-shirt and the other went through with no problem. It sure is sad when the govt stops a package for .33. I am sure it cost them more than that to ship it back to me. What idiots. This was in downtown Chamblee, Georgia.

I think the Clarksburg NJ postal service is the worse Post office I ever went to. I mailed a package on Sept.18 2007 Priority mail, and it was NOT received to whom I sent it to, and thats not the first time. As for getting my mail I am lucky it I ever get all of it.What is the matter with that Post Office? Where do all the package go when they are not received? Most of the time when I have to mail something important I drive 10 miles to Freehold to Mail it.
October 6th, 2007 at 7:35 am
Very bad service, Sat 10-6-07, Monday is holiday, everyone mailing today, but no help, waited in line almost 1/2 hour. Guess they don’t want my business. It sure looks like post office is pushing customers out the door. Recent increase in price, eliminating service, long lines does not make happy customers, what happened to customer service and lower rates, why must every thing now fly what happened to overseas going by boat to keep cost lower, maybe they should cut out some overhead and hire people to work and serve the public (customers remember us?). Thanks for not listening this survey is probably a joke too, like the service I got today.

THE USPS HERE REFUSES TO DELIVER PACKAGES TO ME EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PUT A N ICE CONTAINER RIGHT BYU THE MAILBOX ON THE ROAD FOR THEM TO LEAVE PACKAGES. I am disabled and unable to drive to the post offce and unable to carry out a package if I were able to drive therre.
October 6th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
they claim it is a high traffic road,so they cannot drive up my driveway to drop off packages.
HIGH traffic? i am in the sticks in the middle of nowhere and very seldom does a car even drive by
I had ordered $300 of dried soup, dried potatoes, etc for winter because i will be snowed in for at least 6 months and i begged the postmistress to just have the carrier deliver those boxes here as I have 1 broken arm, shattered shoulder and need the other arm for my cane to balance,so how am I to carry packages out of the post office to my truck-the carrier is 100 feet from my porch and he is too darn lazy to drop off a package even when it is emergency food for me for winter.
I asked them to put the packages on the ground by my mailbox and then I could just pull them up to y hluse on m y sled and again they refused. I put a plastic container and garbage bags by the m ailbox and asked that they leave the packages in the container or in a bag on the ground-once again,i am totally in the sticks and there is no way anyone would steal the stuff as there is no one here-i am alone for miles and miles.

Your service in Colorado Springs area is the worst I’ve seen in 69 yrs.On 12-12-06 it took a letter 18 days to get to City of Industry, Ca.This cost me my credit card.On 10-2-07 I sent a box to Bay.,P.R. It has not arrive yet. On 10-5-07 I sent another box by priority mail to Bayamon,P.R..Today is the 13th and no sign of the box. I went to your offices here and I want a credit to my credit card account for a service not rendered. If you can not handle it,don’t sell it. I belive it is called fraud.
October 13th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
I forgot to tell you, I started a claim with your offices on 10-13-07. I will refuse to pay my credit card your charges for services not rendered. If we can not trust the US Postal Dept. Who do we trust?
October 18th, 2007 at 8:09 am
Your rates to mail a box that weighed 2lb 1.80oz was 7.02. the box was not large, depth of box no more than 2′’ Your rates are outrageous. then I asked the teller for a rate sheet and he does not have any. He says you can get it on line. Using the web address on the sales receipt. Well here I am and I can not find any rate sheets. Your postal service is inadequate. Lines are long. I hear alot of things from other people about the management staff at the post office. Legion road one especially. Not nice manager and do not treat their employees very nice. I have heard that many times. As a Loss Prevention Manager myself, Your postal service should learn that treating employees with respect and decency will always make them more productive and feel good about their job and company. Your managers must be a bunch of idiotts. because I have heard this so often.
Try to improve because your rates are so high, I c an not continue doing business with you.

POST OFFICE 601819998. 10/20/ 2007. 09:29:58 AM. CLERK # 02. NAME TAG KAREN. BILL # 1000300403739. I VISIT THIS POST OFFICE SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK, FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. I HAD NEED TO SEND A EXPRESS ENVELOPE TODAY. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS SERVICE BEFORE. I HAD FILLED OUT THE WRONG FORM KAREN WAS OF GREAT HELP, IN MY COMPLETING THIS TRANSACTION. I COULD NOT READ THE SMALL PRINT, ON THE CORRECT FORM. SHE READ THAT FOR ME. EXPLAINED EXACTLY HOW THIS PROCEDURE WOULD FUNCTION. SHE THEN FOUND TEN SHEETS OF AN OLDER TIFFANY STAMP I WANTED, BY CHECKING OTHER CO-WORKERS SUPPLY. SHE ALSO FOUND SOME 2 CENT STAMPS AND, SOME 1 CENT STAMPS THAT I WANTED. SHE HAS WAITED ON ME IN THE PAST. SHE IS REALLY TO BE COMMENDED. SHE ALWAYS HAS A FRIENDLY GREETING, AND SMILE FOR ALL CUSTOMERS. SHE ALWAYS SAYS THANK YOU, AND ASK IF SHE COULD BE OF ANY FURTHER ASSISSTANCE. SHE IS POLITE, EFFICIENT, FAST, AND A CONSTANT JOY TO DEAL WITH. SHE IS THE STANDARD , OF HOW ALL POSTAL CLERKS SHOULD ACT. SHE SHOULD BE PART OF A TRAINING PROGRAM, FOR NEW EMPLOYEES. SHE ALWAYS CREATES AN EXPERIENCE, FOR WHICH A CUSTOMER IS WILLING TO RETURN. WE, THE CUSTOMERS, ARE THE REAL BOSSES. SINCERELY, THOMAS E. DIGANCI. 630-617-2260.

Service at the Rosewood sales office (99208) was more than excellent. I was called out of a waiting line by a clerk who delt with stamp and postage sales.
I do have a complaint about the drive thru mail drop boxes which are too high for usual size automobiles but just right for pick-up trucks, SUV’s and 18 wheeler tractors. I suggest that at least one of the boxes be replaced with one which stands at a shorter level for the use of the patriots who DO NOT drive gasoline guzzlers.

I used the USPS link on eBay, to print mailing labels for two packages I needed to ship.
The first package went to the wrong post office, then got sent to another post office where it SAT, for about a week, before it finally got sent to the correct post office. In the meantime, the woman the package was supposed to go to, got irate with me, thinking I was trying to SCAM her. She even threatened to file a dispute against me with eBay.
I absolutely DON’T blame her. I might have reacted the same way.
Likewise, the second package went to the wrong place, but, thankfully, that lady was real laid
back about it.
Trying to figure out what happened to those packages, at a time when I was having to go to the library to use the computer, (mine died), and having a medical problem, and being in a lot of pain, was very, very stressful for me.
It’s shameful that these postal workers get paid so much, but take no pride on their work.
Unfortunately, it’s not just the P.O..
There are lots of people who just GO to their place of business, in order to collect a paycheck.
It’s a sad commentary for America.

To Whom It May Concern, I am very upset with the service. On 9-26-07 I mailed 2 pkgs. of cookies to my grandchildren, one in N.Y. one in Boston. Neither of them were ever received. They were sent priority and I paid $18.05 for both. I asked the clerk if I should insure them & he replied in the negative. Of course I regret that decision. I feel I should have some recourse. My address is 240 E. Verdugo Ave. Apt 322 Burbank, Ca.91502 The bill # is 1000202660170 Since this is 10-27-07 what is your suggestion. I hope to hear from you. Thank you for your attention

In the 47 years I have lived in this city, I may have gone to our post office 10 times and either encountered unfriendly service and a very long
waiting period. The postoffice of our neighboring city : Roseville, MI 480669998 is the friendliest most organized office and I have written to the postmaster to let him know. If the
line is long, there are often 5 windows open, and
the postmaster is standing in the background making sure everything is running smoothly.
No wonder they were rated a 5-star postoffice, and they deserve that honor!

I had a very pleasant experience at the McDonough, GA Post Office on October 29, 2007 around 2:15 P.M. The Postal Clerk (#05)that assisted me was most informative, patient and helped me follow through with understanding the kind of services I needed to send the mail I had. She was courteous and respectful…I am a Senior citizen and her attentiveness was most appreciated.

SPRINGFIELD MAIN POST OFFICE
clerk # 19
is very rud, I hope some one will let her know
that she doesn’t belong there.I would like to tell her to look for a noncutomer service kind of job.She needs an attitude fix.
November 7th, 2007 at 9:38 am
My recent trip to the post office was like 99% of my trips there. I have to stand in line for from 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Our area is not that big. There really should be more clerks available at all times of the day to wait on the customers. It is so discouraging to walk in the post office knowing you must go to the service desk, and seeing ten to fifteen people in line ahead of you, with only one window open.
November 10th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
11/07/07 I called in a complaint, was suppose to receive a call back, never happened. Looking at the messsages I would say you are probably understaffed? I mailed 5 bxs from the Livermore postoffice on 22, I had the postal customer help me with the order. 4 of the bxs were going to livermore 3 were received within 3 days the other showed up on 11/6/07, it took 10 days from livermore to livermore. I think their is definity a problem & I was also told that it goes to Oakland first? URGENT USPS email sysytem does not work. I placed an order & the order was completed & I never did receive my order . It is in your sysytem some where.
Sincerely
Inez

I mailed a package today (11/13/07) at the Mesa Desert post office in Mesa, Az. and the clerk, #06 was very pleasant and helpful in getting me the cheapest rates possible. She very carefully explained to me just how I could track the package that I mailed. I would also like to say that the other two clerks were pleasant with helping other customers.

Mailed a package Priority Mail to 77433 Zone 7
When recived it had been cut open, and product gone. 11/17/2007
How do we trust the postal service, even with insurance, its the time, thought, packaging, the love that goes with a package to the receiver, the disappointment of the receiver. Who do we hold accountable, sometimes sorry doesn’t work.
By all the other comments I read, I’m not alone and where only the onces that took time and wrote. today’s date 11/20/2007

I have been informed by a billing agency in our general area that I was sent statements for 4 consecutive months. I never received any. I have an idea they were never sent.
Is there any way to track by date mailings from sender (I can furnish the name) to me?
November 27th, 2007 at 9:29 am
I recently sent a package from Ma to ME via priority mail on 11/17. I was told that it would be delivered on Monday or Tues at the latest. Surprise, it never arrived until late Friday 11/23. So much for priority mail.

I mailed 4 boxes for Christmas to Bridgewater, MA each box cost about 19.68 eash with a weight of 21.50 pounds. Each box took at least two weeks, one which was mailed by itself still has not arrived and was mailed on the 19 of November. We were told about a week. Why bother to mail early when the service is so slow anyway.

My husband & I own a business in Chicago. Over the last couple of months, mail delivery has been delayed. We receive mail 3-4 weeks after the postmarked date! Also, some self-addressed bar coded envelopes that we provide for our customer payments are being returned to our customers labeled “invalid address”.(We have NOT changed our envelopes. The return address and bar code is correct) I have complained repeatedly to the Chicago Clearing post office(on Archer Avenue)
The postal processing office stamped on all the delayed mail is that in Bedford Park. Our customers are complaining to us because we continue to bill them for payments they claim to have mailed. This is a real problem and needs resolution. Please investigate this matter promptly. Thank You Marilyn Rubin

why would the p o take out the lobby stamp mechines and make all have to stand in long lines just to buy stamps, this is the most rediculus move the P.O. has done to date I think, not that overall the P.O. is very smart in any way. see the above remarks about the lines at the counter.

seems the 2 clerks were too worried about where they were going to lunch than take care of customers that were backed out the door

Sent a small letter size package from Bflo, NY, to Erie, PA,(100 miles) via Priority mail on 12/3 with the promise of 2 to 3 day delivery. Not there on 12/6/07. Tracking system could tell me nothing. Human I spoke with said that 2 to 3 day delivery was not guaranteed! Why do all the postal service people use that line then? I paid extra for the Priority service.
Additionally, a card I mailed on 11/23 was returned with address unknown/could not forward, etc. The name, address, ZIP, etc., are all correct. This is the second time in the past three months that the same thing has occurred. In addition, I am receiving envelopes in poor condition: corners ripped off, etc. The returned card came back that way also. I’d like to know what’s happening with the postal system.

12,11,2007 at 9:19 am I stopped at the post office on my way home in Scott, La.70583182 2165690883-0097 to purchase a roll of stamps. While wating in line i asked the person behind the desk to use the bathroom,he said there was non ,I said i really had to pee(it had started to leak) i told him i had a bladder problem but no again. I bought my stamps hurried out to go to pee and backed into a truck . Ihad to call the police and had to go behind a dumpster in the yard and pee.
How about that for our federal gov. Oh I also called the Health and Sanatition Board and reported the problem. Now i will have to pay for a persons bumper.
Who is going to reinburst me for a bumper. All i wanted was buy stamps and to pee.

Nightmare!!! On 12/14 at 17:30 Hr, I went to the Golden Gate Postal Service to deal some errands. The person I was working for weeks had just finished her shift and I was passed to another employee who was not customer oriented and probably was rushing to go home. She told me to try a ‘key’ and did not direct me to where the ‘box’ was located. So I informed her that I will be back & was leaving my package. Perhaps, a few minutes had passed and there was another person at her counter, so I jumped in front and everyone standing in line was joining the ‘band-wagon’ yelling at me that I cut in line. The employee that was working w/ me did not even bother to explain to the public that I did not cut before them. The postal employee kept her mouth shut and was gleaming while the people were shouting at me. To make matters worse the manager of the post office did not help to intervine. She believed the public especially the Black woman who shouted the loudest. Naturally I became defensive because I was a publicly humiliated and after my transaction the manager chased me out!!!. I will be filing a formal complaint w/ the General Manager if not the postal inspector!!!

The Portsmouth Post Office is always superb in
service, it’s the coustomers that have bad days
and make it miserable for all who are around them.
The workers put up with it no matter what. I can’t understand why people are so inconsiderate
of other people around them, but I guess it is
the attitude a lot of people have today, It’s
all about Me and nobody else! They make every-
body around them miserable as they are. Scale
1 to 10 it is rated at the top 10. Roy

I totaly agree with it seems every one else… your guaranteed a certain amount of days for your packages to arrive to their destination and actually alls that we got were lies…my package was taken to the Albemarle NC PO on 12/11/07 and was guaranteed to arrive in Whiting NJ no later than the 14th.. well i know that these other people that left comments… DID NOT HAPPEN!!!It is now the 17th and still alls my PO can tell me is that they accepted it… Well excuse me but I already know that!!! After all we are the ones that took it there… alls I would like to know is WHERE IS IT!!! and why cant I find out where it is..even though its the Holidays ..the holidays happen every year!! why cant you be honest with people and figure the back up in with the delivery date that you give.. I agree.. I think that yous stink!!!

I attendant #5 on my receipt, was crabby, rude and horrible to the lady in front of me… There were only a total of 3 people to be waited on and she is a complete GROUCH… I would drive to Omaha before I would ever go back there again.

On 12-10-07 I filed in person a “Hold my Mail for the 12th Dec.thru the 17th and would pick it up the 18th. When we arrived home our box was STUFFED full of 5 days mail. . I contacted a supervisor about it and all I got was an apology several times during our conversation which did not satisfy me as to why this happened. There were several items that I did not care to have sticking out of the box that were very important .
My staion is located at No. Teutonia Ave and West Florest Ave. zip 53209
in Milwaukee WI.

On 12/12/07 at 9:55 a.m I was at the Market Squre Station. There was only one teller. When I finally got to the desk, I told her it was media mailing and she stated that the packages would be opened. I told her that I had never been told that at any other post office. She stated that rules changes. I said that the public should know ahead of time like with anything else. She then said, God has rules. You as a Christian should know that. Frankly, speaking this woman did not know me from Adam. If the rules have changed, then they should be posted for people to know. I learned today, 12/21/07 that my packages had been opened and books within one were torn! Clerk #02, I hope she has a great holiday with anything she took from those packages and for destroying others. God bless her and I will pray for her in a way she will know! If anyone wants a copy of my receipt or contact me, do it by mail. Thanks you, Genesis A. Slaughter MERRY CHRISTMAS & A BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL INCLUDING CLERK 02

By the way, on 12/12/07 Clerk 02 never asked me for Identification when she used my credit card to pay for my purchase. She claimed she did not need it i.d which was why she held on to my card until the transaction was complete. How would she know that I was using the right card just because an address was on the box. I could have been anyone mailing those boxes. You may get complaints from others and truthfully, I hope she gets fired.

I mailed packages on the 17 with priority mail but wihtout the extra signature since I talk to the recipients everyday. I am extremely dissappointed that they still have not received the packages after four days which you guaranteed with two. USPS is always adding something on to insure that the packages are to get there. If we don’t take the add-ons, does that mean the USPS isn’t responsible for what we mail and we are just lost out on everything we mailed?

Last Saturday Dec 15, 2007 I sent a package priority mail certified. Was told by Priority mail it would be there in a few days (2-3 is what you advertise). It went to Federal Way, WA on the 19th and yesterday on the 21st in arrived at a post ofice unit in Phoenix. Still not there, it will be a week tommorow. My receipt SAYS Priority…This is not the first delayed priority package, this gets old.

the chambersburg office will give you the worse experience in your life, and this is the second time with the same exact experience 3 years difference but the same postal people!! Horrible I hope someone gets back to me to hear my complete story!!(and imagine my daughter is a letter carrier and that didn’t help me at all only John at the annex was of great help in fact he just recieved my lost check from Dec.1st and today is Dec.22 what a joke- especially for people who depend on their mail to live and pay their bills!!I could have been evicted by now and with no eletricity all because of a neglectful postal worker(which in my mind was on purpose being the fact; second time; same experience!!!!!!!!!!
if u want a tragic experience just change your address at the chambersburg post office ( a change I made on Nov.1st they couldnt get right in a month now i cancelled the box and left no forwarding address i did what Kramer of Seinfeld tried to do cancelled my mail)I paid $43.00 for a box cancelled on Dec. 12 and only recieved $21.00 refund but i left them holding the mail now what will they do with my mail? I don’t give a flying reindeer but they will never get a change of address from me again. Now I am a non-postal fan
signed keep my mail and send it back

I have been trying for a year to convince the post office that I know what my street address is. Shortly after we moved to this address on Dec. 19, 2006 the P.O. began sending out little yellow labels on mail advising that our address is 161 Spring Meadow Lane even though I had submitted a change of address for 165 Spring Meadow Lane. I thought I had about gotten it settled with all my correspondents, when suddenly about mid year I began receiving mail addressed to 161, which is a non-existent address. The confusion has resulted in one credit card statement being returned for wrong address. I have gone to usps.com/household who sent me an address at San Antonio. The fact that usps.com/household sent me a purple card with the 161 address hasn’t made me more comfortable, and I’m still trying to correct the problem. Maybe we could sell the house and move, not tell buyer.
